Dr Jonathan McQuillan, Molecular Biologist and Analytical Chemist at NOC, takes a deeper dive into the new genetic testing approach to test for toxic algae recently developed by NOC. This exciting new method can be more accurate, significantly faster and potentially far cheaper and was able to predict a rise at least 4 weeks earlier than the microscope method.
