Please understand that there is an omnipresent fear of old age and how much money is enough - no social security, children may not take care, may be abroad, end of life care is expensive, medical coverage may not be enough. This uncertainty alone is enough for people to not spend even if they have seemingly enough. We don't take well to uncertainties - be it dying young or living too long.

To have certainty requires safety net, medical support from the gov, good public hospitals like in the West. Otherwise it's impossible for middle class to bear big expenses in old age like a cancer treatment, serious injury, high inflation, etc.

I have seen a phenomenona where so many families accumulated a lot of wealth was created. But due to a bad generation all wealth was destroyed. You are absolutely correct. Previous generation want to map the situation at their times on the present generation. I heard my father telling my mother arrogantly that I didn't have to make houses , because of which I am able to be better than what he was at early 30s. Background : my father is an ex govt officer, I have been educated in govt school (around zero fees), govt engg colleges ( state govt college and masters at old IIT where fees are all total less that 1 lakh)

May be just that he didn't like to spend his money, however hard or easy he earned it.Where would you be now. Be grateful. Baap baap hota he. Beta beta hota he. Why forget the sacrifices childrem make, especially girls. @@dipinnair6003 Any struggling middle class house which has a girl aged 10 yrs or above doesn't keep any maid. Girls are the chhotus and Ramus of the house in young age and mothers to siblings, in a little advanced age above 17/18/19 yrs, handling all house affairs, cooperating in small businesses or freeing moms for small businesses or savings or saving fathers money by not spending or utterly stingly spending or by cutting their needs. Parents later forget their contribution very easily, rather just they are not noticed even..

Good video and excellent observation.. although the question is how to overcome the fear of the future and not lose that safety net. Middle class people still live in guilt to spend and that voice at the back of the mind keeps taunting if we indulge sometime on something and some time later we need money for some other genuine reason or emergency.. we are not very comfortable with abundance and still live in a scarcity mindset, fearing the future..

There is a proverb in kannada " kottidu tanage bacchittidu pararige " rough translation is if u enjoy the money u have in a fulfilling way in a good way for yourself for your children or u donate money for a good cause that brings u happiness in some way or u will achieve happiness and contentment in some way , or bcz you spent money for a good cause u will reap it's benefits..instead if you keep stacking money and not utilise it , one day some one ( some stranger ) will come and take away that money " phew long explanation but that's the brevity of proverbs 😂.but the point I mean is ur video was Bang on sir I have seen a family exactly being this type with lots of money but stingy , the daughter in law of the house is suffering bcz of this attitude 😢 I loved this video will definitely share it

The cycle of money that people don't know about you need to EARN > SAVE > INVEST > SPEND and spend in a way that you feel Happy at the end of it. Whether you donate it, buy cars, buy houses, travel you need to get Happiness out of spending money...that is also an art.

Good video and excellent observation.. although the question is how to overcome the fear of the future and not lose that safety net. Middle class people still live in guilt to spend and that voice at the back of the mind keeps taunting if we indulge sometime on something and some time later we need money for some other genuine reason or emergency.. we are not very comfortable with abundance and still live in a scarcity mindset, fearing the future..

Now I there in marriage proposals, many people are rejecting cause of no money in len den, even some people think that after marriage they will have to take care of girls mom.
