    I was able to get it free from twonotes by being an owner of a torpedo studio and a collection of dynir’s. Now I’m using the NAM amp modeling software to make profiles of my own amps to use in the codex section of genome. Such a great plugin.

    Awesome work on the review. The fact that they added NAM support in there, gets Two Notes a big double thumbs up. As far as captures are concerned, I mostly play the ones I made from my own gear (pinned up on ToneHunt, user 2dor) for obvious reasons. As far as the DynIRs are concerned, my favorites so far are Michael's BHG Hidden Gem pack - those 3 variations on that legendary cab are amazing! There's one mic in particular that I really love there which is the Sennheiser MD409 that works so well for guitar tones - killer pack!

    It's awesome to see more and more companies include Neural Amp Modeler in their software. It's exactly what Steven was hoping for AFAIU! The fact that the NAM neural-network creates higher quality captures than both Kemper, ToneX and Quad Cortex is just a plus (or they _can_ be of higher quality as long as the person capturing the amp/pedal knows what they are doing). Steven has even said that the neural-network in NAM is quite simple, so we can expect future implementations to be of even higher quality. I also hope that more developers start using NAMs parametric capture features to model full amps and pedals instead of just snapshot captures.

    Amazing software, thankyou for the video. In lieu of Neural DSP releasing some kind of all-in-one suite to include the purchased amps, cabs and effects into one UI, this is the best thing going for studio work. It can be used live also with wireless MIDI hardware footswitches.

    YES! I've been hoping you would share your experience with the Genome. To my ears, there's nothing as good as the Genome or the Opus. Love the song references in here. Yes, I did go into Dokken mode for a bit and then had to woodshed the solo for In My Dreams. That's the fun for me in the Genome. It instantly inspires me and has me playing those old familiar songs.

    Your NAM capture and your IRs sound exactly like you normally sound with the real gear Leon. It might be sacrilegious to write this on here, but your tone with your NAM capture of your Boogie sounds as good and as 3D as you sound through your real Boogie amp in other videos. Your NAM capture is in another realm beyond the same amp model in your Fractal units. The companies that bring out the hardware guitar pedal that runs dual NAM captures in true stereo, are going to severely disrupt the amp simulator pedal market and part of the floor and rack modeler market this year. ToneX did that last year, but that was just the beginning. With NAM being open source, where anybody can use the code, we are going to see a plethora of NAM enabled pedals, floor modelers and possibly even rack units soon. I'm using the NAM plugin and York Audio IRs for my "amp simulation" tool for now. There are going to be many new NAM enabled products released this year, and I'll be watching to see which of these becomes the dominant one out in the real world with users. Two things that will determine that are A) how well the product is supported and B) hardware pedal/floor modeler/rack unit integration with the software environment and how elegant and easy it is to set up and use right away. NAM is new tech and free to use by anyone so there's an intense race happening right now as I type this. Music tech companies are racing to bring software + hardware NAM solutions to market. Genome looks awesome, however, there are going to be some mighty competitors going up against Genome and other NAM enabled platforms released this year. The company with an elegant NAM enabled product that becomes dominant in the commercial market will have a similar business model to Line 6 - multiple hardware solutions for different applications, at different (affordable) price points, integrated with a software counterpart, and a constant stream of updates based on customer feedback. There's room for a professional solution as well that's more expensive, offers a greater magnitude of options/tweakability much like Fractal Audio products. Let the disruption begin!

    They are already dabbling with component level capturing. just wait until they start doing captures for effects like modulation delay and compression. The entire industry will be flipped on its head.

  • @BobGuido

    @BobGuido

    4 ай бұрын

    Indeed@@ironblast5 because anyone will be able to "design" whatever effect they want without having to learn how to write any code, or learn anything about designing an algorithm to create effects. People will just chain together existing pedal/rack unit/plugin effect combinations however they want and capture the result and put THAT out as a new pedal. The best curators and sound designers will replace the current A-list digital algorithm designers. The tastemakers in the future of music gear won't be nerdy dudes with computer science degrees. It will just be people with really good taste who can also capture something well, with good fidelity.
