Bio
Multi-Instrumentalist Reinhardt Buhr has composed 17 albums in 10 years time.
At the end of 2019, his work went viral over social media, reaching more than a hundred million views across Facebook and KZread.
Reinhardt combines the Laser Harp, Spanish Guitar, Electric Guitar, Electric Cello, Australian didgeridoo, Israeli Shofar, Spanish Cajon, Synthesizers and Piano via a live looping system to create an extraordinary symphonic orchestral sound in only a one-man improvisational act.
Reinhardt Buhr was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1988 and grew up with
no passion for music at all, In fact, as a teenager, he became a computer gamer and
began abusing alcohol at a very young age. His first job was at a small liquor store, where he earned 20 cents an hour. After that, he worked as a packer in a supermarket. His plan of
becoming an animator failed when he started abusing marijuana and alcohol on a
regular basis.
At the age of 19, two of his closest friends began learning the guitar. Reinhardt
immediately fell in love with it. With no formal training, the three friends simply
taught themselves how to play. A year later, Reinhardt was inspired by a Flamenco
guitar player, and began learning Flamenco Rumba Guitar from KZread videos.
One day, he was sitting at a small roadside steak restaurant with his parents, and
there was a man playing solo guitar covers. Reinhardt approached him to make
small talk and the owner of the restaurant overheard that Reinhardt played a bit of
Spanish Guitar music.
So the owner asked Reinhardt “Why don’t you come back next week to play, and I
will give you a steak and 10 dollars in return?” So Reinhardt Buhr played his first
solo Spanish guitar gig that following weekend and hasn’t stopped since.
Reinhardt Buhr quickly became known around South Africa and formed a duo
band called “Wild Lettuce”. He and the drummer performed many national
tours. They also opened for a lot of great artists. But unfortunately, Reinhardt fell
into a dark habit of abusing alcohol, drugs, and cocaine.
This affected him, his career, and everyone around him in a very negative way.
The band broke up. Reinhardt Buhr went solo and left his hometown, hoping to
escape the drug scene, only to find himself moving in with someone who also had
a cocaine problem. The whole cycle started over again.
At the end of 2016, Reinhardt hit an all-time low. He was at the point of death. He
fell on his knees and pleaded with God to step into his broken life. When things
could not get any worse, God in His full mercy and grace, stepped in and changed
his life completely. Reinhardt and his wife, Mandie Buhr, both experienced God’s
salvation and were baptized together. They left a lifestyle of abusing, marijuana,
alcohol, and drugs, and began on a beautiful road of salvation and healing.
During the biggest transition of his life, Reinhardt was playing a gig one day. As
he was playing for hundreds of people, He experienced a voice telling him to make music
for God. When Reinhardt made the shift from playing for fame and fortune to
playing for Christ Jesus, everything about his music changed! You can even see
the transition from his earlier album called “Organic 432hz”, to his latest album
entitled “Arise”.
To this day, Reinhardt Buhr makes music to God. This is his way of worshiping
His Creator and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I encourage everyone to help him out so he can afford to devote his life to this work. I think he has a special insight into the way humans receive musical nourishment. He seems to heal others with his sounds.

I have to admit, since I got saved by Jesus, (I dont know if your read my testimony at the bottom of the video description) people started testifying that they receive healing through the music and the only one I can give the credit to Jesus Christ, and as you know the story about Jesus, He healed everyone and is still doing it today! @@ReinhardtBuhr Reinhardt, you do not know when a comment grounds one to the basic truth of life and confirms one’s intuitions and feelings. I have so much to say, but I must take advantage of this small space and not stress it by packing too much in one place. First, I have ben opened up surgically from behind, my spine, from neck to behind and there are 20 titanium screws, metal braces, and supporting metal rods…combined with fusion of all the vertebrae in my back and attaching my solid one piece spine to my pelvis, making me a rigid metal bionic man-hot did it feel? It felt like I was hit by a massive bus. Three years later I am walking and doing well. However, my complex and painful healing path was blocked and did not progress until I placed myself in the cradle of Jesus’s words,and of the Bible. Oh, I was a monk as a youth, even, but nothing Ike a renewed clarity of the saving grace of Jesus has been good enough to heal me. I will say, I have not a bent for saying it, but it is clearer and clearer, and your comments make it obviously necessary that i say to you “I have accepted Jesus as my personal savior and accept that he came into this world, suffered and died on the cross nd was raised from the dead and has redeemed me.” I know pain. I have suffered and been abused, violently and otherwise, and I am able to clearly say Jesus has brought peace and health back to me. In ways, I am more whole now, at 77, than I’ve ever been, and more importantly, I am awake this time to realize Jesus has acted in my life n an amazing way, so creatively and beautifully, and I can, as you, claim no value or virtue of my own that has enabled my recovery, but having David Jeremiah “a Bible teacher” REFRESH AND RENEW MY LIFELONG KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS IN A PLAIN ANAD STRAIGHTFORWARD MANNER has moved me from a natural plane of living, to a grace filled, spirit-filled dedication of all my life to Jesus, a new walk with Jesus, but a walk begun as a boy, but I almost lost my vocation. I am called to be a simple secular monk, and to serve J’eus and testify to his healing power. NOW: Hearing from you! Not because you are famous, but because you are so clearly a holy man, and an instrument of Jesus’s grace and work, that I am made stronger and made more clear even again that I am on teh right road now. I am, with you, hand in hand, walking towards the promise of eternal life through Jesus’s saving grace. THAT YOU WROTE THOSE WORDS HAS GIVEN ME JOY AND CERTAINTY. YOU ARE SO BLESSED, AND GIFTED. I NEVER KNEW ANYONE TO DO WHAT YOU DO. MY FLAMENCO TEACHER AND I SOMETIMES ENTERED THE FLOW AND CREATED MUSIC AKIN TO YOUR WORK, BUT YOU ARE A MASTER. I want to tell you that I have lost everyone in my life except my spouse of 58 years. i am in possession of one friendship. I am and always have been a man of solitude and am lonely and disconnected from society but I do not feel alone. I feel loved. I know Jesus is with me. Reinhardt, because you wrote these words to direct me to your conversion, you have empowered me in my own conversion. I feel that we are closer than friends, now, for sure-brothers in Christ. Wow I was so gripped to the heart when I read your story! Thanks for sharing your heart with me and the KZread community here! And ultimately bringing attention to our loving creator because my heart yearns and weeps so that everyone might have a chance to experience His love. How can one keep this to yourself? What i love most about Reinhardt is that he just don't make music for a living, he pours his whole soul and heart into it, i mean look at him get really into it.... I have been listening to his music for over a year now, and i put his music on while i am drawing, gaming, or just chillin. his music has a way to sooth me and calm me down, even with all the struggles i have been dealing with in life. It all but kills me, its the most ungodly pain I've ever felt in my life. I'd give anything to fix her. But I can't, none of us make it out of this life alive. Your music, helps me in more ways I thought possible. I forget which one of your videos that your talking about having faith in God and what not. I may not be on the best of terms with Him, but I no longer blame Him. There's much more I'd like to say, but I'd rather not bore u.
