A new medicine could bring an end to embarrassing excessive sweating

Dermatologist Dr. Lisa Hitchins shows a new product that can end uncontrolled and excessive sweating after a quick application.
Dermatologist Lisa Hitchins spoke with Great Day Houston host Deborah Duncan about the condition known as hyperhidrosis. Symptoms of hyperhidrosis include excessive and uncontrollable sweating, especially from the underarms, palms of the hands, and feet. Some treatment options have included Botox or taking a medicine in pill form, but Dr Hitchins showed how a new product, Qbrexza, that has just been made available recently can be dispensed easily using a wipe to apply it topically. If you’d like to find more info about Qbrexza, speak to your dermatologist. For more info on Dr. Lisa Hitchins, go to www.dermatologynwhouston.com or find her Facebook page, Lisa D Hitchins, MD PA- Dermatology Center of Northwest Houston and Instagram with the username Dermatologynwhouston.

I'm always dripping. I can sit without a shirt on and I will have sweat droplets drip from my underarms and run down my arms. That is with clinical strength prescription deodorant. The sad part, without deodorant, I can lay on my back with my arms laying above my head and watch the sweat pool up on my armpits within seconds. :/

Why haven't I see this before!? Since the age of about 15 I started sweating more and more. Even just sitting down on a bus in winter. Seen several doctors who just advise to "work out more" and "eat healthy" etc. Well, I DO work out, a LOT, and my diet is very healthy. This is life changing.

SAME, or they tell me “drink more water”…. I drink 1/2-1 gallon water a day if not more, work out and eat clean as well. And sometimes I stick to drinking 1/2 gallons of water because I just sweat more the more water I drink. I also have to wear shorts and tee shirts/tank tops under my clothes too to help soak up my sweat or I limit how I move in public so my excessive face-sweat doesn’t show. Especially if I’ve drank over 1/2gal of water. Because I can’t just put a t-shirt, tank top or extra layer of mid-thigh biker shorts on my face to help hide how much I’m sweating. I’m so happy to know that I’m not the only one who really does workout eat healthy and STILL for the life of me can’t beat the excessive sweat. I really wish you & anyone else who reads this a great journey on the road to finding a solution for hyper-hidrosis foreal.🫶♥️

Hyperhidrosis will ruin your life in every aspect. It's not the sweat it's the body odor that people worry about. Robinal forte works but will destroy your mouth teeth gums, with time. Also you will lose cartilage liquids in your joints. Because it drys up your insides. Stops your vowel movements. Don't expect other people to understand it. Especially family members. What a miserable condition to have. I had it since 7th grade. Hands, feet, arm pits even groin sweat. It's f in horrible! Depression, suicidal thoughts, social anxiety. You name it, it will ruin your happiness! Trust me I know. Unfortunately there is no miracle cure. Good luck to all of us that suffer from this miserable condition.

My hyperhidrosis started at age 4 as it was after having Horse Fever which drove my fever past what a home thermometer could measure. And my father was Christian Science so my mother took me to the doctor if they could afford it and we were poor. The high fever caused damage to the hypothalamus and I found the Plant-Based diet, it has done more to help than any medication or cream as my hyperhidrosis was from my armpits down to my feet, my but sweat and my feet and all of it profusely. It would look like I had peed my pants. Humiliating. I found out that I am horribly allergic to all dairy and that helped a lot. Found this out 12 years ago, but there were other foods which triggered the condition. I am not Whole Food Plant-Based as it is the kindest diet for my body. Believe me with however bad the condition was, it got even worse during menopause with hot flashes and massive sweats now of my head. The diet freed me. I’ve talked myself out of suicide many times. Fortunately I have a very understanding husband and he has mild hyperhidrosis, so he could not feel my hands were sweating as his always were. But we have had 3 sons who did not inherit the kind of sweating we have had. My husband’s condition is not to the point of being grossly abnormal as mine was. The Standard American Diet has many triggered for my condition. The longer I am on it, the better I feel.

@@DewdesuIt helped tremendously. I added walking and now that I am retired, I walk on average, 5 miles per day. Has it stopped me sweating totally? No, but it allows me to sweat NORMALLY. Whatever makes us more healthy will also help with a chronic condition also. I am not only Vegan, but LOW FAT Vegan. Not being overweight is also important. I had been up to 200 lbs., but now with walking, I am 125 lbs. And that is a much better weight for me at 5’4”! Whatever makes a human being more healthy is going to help us too. We are already outcasts, and being Vegan is also taking on one more heavy brick to the load we already carry, but… it is worth it. I know a lot about health as their fancy potions never did ANYTHING to help me! But losing weight on the Whole Foods Plant-Based diet, with exercise, has made me for all intents and purposes, a normal human being. Except for this one thing: I have compassion, and that is no longer normal at all but should be!!!!!

In 2011 when I was 11 years old I got sick with chronic pancreatitis. I was starved for a week at a time every month that I was sick, and the more that I got sick, the more damaged my pancreas got. And for some reason my doctors never explained that a damaged pancreas can affect how my pancreas absorbed vitamins and nutrients. So I ended up being malnourished by the time I was in 9th grade, then my sweating got really bad. It was really just on my face and back in HS, now im 24 and my hyperhidrosis is all over my body. My face, back, hands, feet, legs, neck, and chest. I step outside in the summer and start sweating, and when its humid I cannot stop sweating. To the point where I feel like I need to just go inside and shower and never go back outside. Really is a social life killer, used to be really out going and always busy, now the summer comes and I want to be outside but I just disappear.

Sweaty hands are the worst. A world where you struggle to shake people's hands -whether it's for an interview, introducing yourself, or a a simple high-five. Struggling to open simple things because your hands have zero grip from being so drenched. Having to wipe your hands every second as you write, type, drive, or hold anything. Imagine developing different types of mental health problems because of the burden that your wet hands bring. Take into consideration that all these misfortunes are JUST from the hands alone. Think about what sweating from top to bottom would do to a person. I do not wish this curse upon anyone... even my worst enemies!

I take oral glycopyrrolate and it helps moderately with sweating... I still sweat when I take 2mg but I sweat around 30% of what I do without taking it. The worst side effect is such bad dry mouth that I cant speak, and nothing remedies it aside from stopping the drug

Same hear my friend. Id personally have never taken Botox but have owned my sweaty forehead like Rodney Dangerfield did while sitting next to Johny Carson back in the day. It’s a part of my routine lol! But After reading the Electric Rainbow by Arthur Firstenburg, I think it’s related to the over electrification of our environment via EMR. In the book he sheds light on the fact that some people who were exposed to uncommon amounts of EMR experienced brain fog, fatigue and perfuse sweating. Now I just have to sleep in a Faraday cage for a few weeks to see if it’ll keep the forehead dry😂
