Thanks for being open to my request, even though it was out of your comfort zone. xD Though it's not my favourite song from this live show, It is ( at least I think ) the easiest beginner track, not as gruesome or horrifying compared to other tracks. Also it had to be the live version cause Mikael sang on the 1st EP, 1st Album, 2nd EP and finally the bands third album, and this song is on the 2nd album from the band, "Nightmares Made Flesh". Absolutely stellar album, easily their best in their catalogue, the guys wrote some seriously mind melting tracks for it. The guy who was scaring you a bit is Dan Swanö of Edge of Sanity fame ( also the Producer of the first 2 Opeth Albums )

Bloodbath is just awesome. Back in the day when Mikael still had his good growl. I still like his growl nowadays but back in the day it was probably one of the absolute best.

Pro tip: If you like the Äkerfeldt growl from this era, then check out BAEST - Necro Sapiens. It might as well have been Mikael as guest vocalist.

This band has so many overlooked gems in their discography. Amazingly catchy/brutal riffs in their songs.

Congratulations on your first original death metal experience. Plus on the studio version there is another vocalist

The vocals on the album (this song is from) are all done by Peter Tägtgren, another huge name in metal music. If you're ever curious to check some of it one day, his main bands are "Hypocrisy" and "Pain", both in vastly different styles but I think you might enjoy.

This started as a throwback band playing classic 80s and 90s death metal. The core members are the founding members of Katatonia, who you should also check out. They've had three different vocalists. The one on the studio version of this song is legendary producer Peter Tagtgren of Hypocrisy. Mike was on the first album and the two releases immediately following this album. And yes, Axe is their drummer

Thanks for reacting to this, eventhough I know it's not exactly in your comfort zone. You can check Bloodbath live at Waken and that's the most demonic Mikael has sounded live. You don't have to react to it as it may not be your thing. But you can check it out of curiosity :)

I saw Bloodbaths first US performance at Maryland Deathfest in 2015. They are great. I’m glad you’re reacting to some different styles of metal.

This recorded in 2005. It was a side project but for mikeal it was just for fun an nothing more. When it became more than that with tours and stuff he opted out

@@MusicCatsandCoffee Broke and bored, the members of the yet-to-be-formed Bloodbath supergroup had attended a birthday party, where the idea came up to record the music they'd grown up around in the Stockholm death metal scene, like Entombed and Dismember. Åkerfeldt recently recounted the experience for Exclaim! TV's Aggressive Tendencies when Opeth played Toronto's Massey Hall this fall. "I remember vomiting on a wall in the house where we recorded right before I'm going in to do the vocals, so as I was screaming I had the taste of vomit in my mouth, which is very suitable for recording like that," Åkerfeldt says. "In those days, we did it for fun.… It's become a real band; it's become a headline act, so that kind of speaks volumes on - the goal with that band is not, anymore, to vomit on a wall and record an EP." He also explains his two departures (and returned in the first place) from the band he calls "just a piss take on our version of death metal - Swedish death metal, late '80's style - but with fun lyrics. I mean, the lyrics are ridiculous, to be honest."

Interesting, Live video first... Did not expect that. Thanks. I saw Bloodbath live in '18. With, Kreator, Dimmu Borgir and Hatebreed. The European Apocalypse tour, was one of the best live shows I've been to.. But I never looked much deeper, And did not know till today Mikael Åkerfeldt was a co-founder... Thanks.

Yes, this drummer was also in Opeth and now he moves back to Bloodbath . From Bloodbath I only like "Like Fire" as it is the easiest to listen song for me. But I like both - Akerfeldt and Holmes - vocals .

JAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (Just Dutch for yes) Long live Fart Garfunkel. Glad he won one game You Are growing into this genre I asume. Yes, the drummer is the (former) drummer of Opeth. This band was(!) a side project of Mikael Åkerfeldt years ago. Still slays. Thanks so much.

You should definitely check out the band Katatonia at some point, Jonas the vocalist is one of Mikael’s friends.

\m/ \m/ Bloodbath just rules. Every single album! Eaten would probably scare a parent a lot more than this one. Also, anything on Survival of the Sickest would scare the shit out of a parent, and that is awesome. Favorite metal band of mine as of now. Mikael, Peter and now Nick just give it such a different flavor. Nick is just doomy and evil sounding. Mikael had a lot of power and Peter's shrieks and growls are just crazy on Nightmares Made Flesh. Not for the faint of heart lol.
