Jim, your excitement is contagious. There is so much to hear in this (and pretty much every) Maiden song. No matter how much I listen, a different section or instrument will stand out to me as new. Love your channel and reviews, dude!

Got to witness this show "World Piece Tour" 1983 at Richfield Coliseum, Ohio. A little band named Fastway opened for them supporting their self-titled release. Loudest and clearest opener I've seen to date. Wore out Piece of Mind and Fastway LPs for sure. My parents heard these songs many times as my bedroom was next to theirs :]

Good shout. Piece of Mind is always my favourite go to Iron Maiden album. So many good tracks on there. Revelations and Still life never seem to get the attention they deserve.

Also agreed. Has always been no.1 for me and always will be! From the thunderous opening of Where Eagles Dare through Revelations, Flight of Icarus, The Trooper and ending with epic To Tame and Land. Still enjoy it as much as I did over 30 years ago.

Great song. Great album. There weren't many albums back in the time this came out that I could listen to from beginning to end without wanting to skip a track or two. This was great from start to finish, though. Probably my favorite Maiden album.

Listening to this song again, I can here the basis for No Prayer for the Dying album. That is Maiden. Always trying new things but always sounding like Maiden.

Strange that Herbert wouldn't allow them to use the title DUNE when there are still numerous DUNE names in the song.

Was just thinking that....it's embarrassing to me though that as a sci fi fan I didn't join the obvious dots in the lyrics...

He was a big softy, didn't like war or killing and he didn't like metal and especially didn't like the fact the song glorifies Paul Muad'dib as a Messiah when dune at least according to the author is very much a story about why Paul isn't a good person

Either side of this record are Powerslave and Number Of The Beast. In fact I would say, the first 7 Iron Maiden albums have never, ever been bettered. What a band they were back then.

Ah, now I get it. Read Dune last year and it all suddenly makes sense....👍 To Tame A Land is so cool....trying to imagine a world where this song was allowed to be Dune. Can't believe Frank didn't like heavy music! Would be ace if used on the film....

If you have a vpn internet connection, you can log in a Canada server and probably see it. I love the Dune series; I’m reading the books again now. Klaus Schulze made an album inspired by the Dune novel. And on the album X, there’s a song called Frank Herbert. Love them and can recommend them. Didn’t know this song was about Dune; I need to pay more attention to the lyrics in the future. Stranger in a strange land, is also based on a SF novel. As usual, great transitions in the song. Great song indeed.

Good old Iron Maiden, I've listened to this album countless times. For all Iron Maiden fans, I found this recently on NWOTHM Full Albums chanel: Ironbound - The Lightbringer kzread.info/dash/bejne/lGxhl7yTidvYeNI.html It is a clone of Iron Maiden, but it is a good clone. Worth listening to.

Good instrumental but never been a fan of Iron Maiden vocals. But, Jim, your energy is causing me to keep listening.
