Fun fact, in the anime Red Nova was an Eartbound based on the serpent Nazca line that the anime made up to fit with the theme of the Earthbound Immortals but after 5ds ended an actual serpent Nazca line was discovered in real life. How cool is that!

Yep. It was discovered in 2014. It’s about time they got to it. I’m also glad that they used Red Nova and didn’t make up a new Earthbound Immortal to take the serpent Nazca Line spot.

Jack Atlas is the only man who was able to literally bend the closest thing Yugioh has to the devil to his will by his own force of will alone.

Grandpa’s Blue-Eyes getting some love! The closest the dub got for the Crimson Devil was during an event in Duel Links.

Something I don't understand is why did the Crash Town Arc of 5ds get dubbed when it wasn't nessessary to the main story but Jack's story of getting Red Nova Dragon was cut from the English dub. PS: It's ironically funny how in the English dub Jack just happens to have Red Nova Dragon and nobody questions it. I had no idea that there was a reason Jack had that card.

Honestly, Yugioh protagonists inexplicably having new boss monsters is a common trend. Where did Yuya get Nirvana High Paladin? Where did Yuma get Utopia Roots? Where did Yugi get Dark Magician Girl? Where did Jaden get Divine Neos? Where did Yusei get Majestic Star Dragon? etc.

@@wakkablockablaw6025 Yuya's Pendulum is granting Yuya visions of new monsters and is manifesting them to reality. Yuma through the power of Shining Draw and Zexal created Utopia Roots. Same for can be said for Utopic Future. Yugi must have gotten Dark Magician Girl from the cards he got at the trading card place much like Light Force Sword when he was hanging out with Tea. Jaden has been creating different Neos fusions on the spot through contact fusion the entire time. The part with Yusei getting Majestic Star Dragon is easy, through the blessing of the Crimson Dragon.

@@VanishEclipse4867 Yuya: I don't remember that being a thing. Yuma: Utopia Roots was played at the end of Zexal when Astral possessed ALL of the numbers. I've watched that duel a few times. I don't recall that card being manifested. Yugi: It was explained in GX (The episode when Dark Magician Girl dueled Jaden) that Yugi is the only person with Dark Magician Girl. It's weird that Yugi pulled the only existing card. But I guess it isn't technically impossible, just not explained. Jaden: I don't think the cards were "created". I always interpreted the Neos fusions as being in Jaden's extra deck at the start of the duel. Also, when was it explained or insinuated that Jaden's Neos cards are created with every new combination? Can they be created with any card like Neos fusing with Rainbow Dragon? Yusei: I don't recall that explanation.

I realised watching this, the 3rd effect of the Blue Eyes is a reference as well, namely, to the Shadow Duel in the Manga, after Kaiba takes/steales the Blue Eyes from Yugi, who got his Grandpa to allow him to take it as a good Luck Charm. In that Shadow Game, when Kaiba is about to lose, he smuggles the Blue Eyes from his Pocket onto his Deck, and summons it. But since it´s a Shadow Game, and THAT Dragon has a connection to Solomons Heart, it refuses to attack Yami-Yugi and destroys itself. The Turn changes, Yami summons it back onto the Field, and wins the Game, and curses Kaiba to have Nightmares for that Night.

Honestly, the Red Nova card wasn’t what I was expecting but I’m not complaining. My prediction for the final slot that’s between DM and GX is that with the new Metalmorph support, Heavy Metal King might get printed. Yes, a Johnny Steps card but it sounds appropriate since he used Metalmorph so it would be an appropriate tie-in. If it isn’t, I don’t know what it could be. It’s always exciting to know what anime-only cards we’re going to get in these sets.

The Earthbound Immortal seems so random. Did not expect thatz but then again we needed something from 5Ds

Those are really cool, Dylan! Also, just as a side note, a "what if" of Jack turning into a dark signer would make for a killer video idea down the road!

I love the new Blue Eyes card and the new Earthbound Immortal card. Both cards look absolutely amazing and the references are so cool. The GX trap card is also great too

Exodia support in 2024 is insane to think about lol Glad to see another of Adrian's cards getting printed as we still don't have all of his! Oh interestingly in the anime it looks like a demonic or yubel's eye a bit but in the card it is Exodia's eye! the blue eyes based on grandpa Muto is crazy to see! Nice pose reference! That is the strongest earthbound immortal for real i didn't even noticed it didn't destroyed itself if there was no field spell! I'm so hyped the most for that one it truly is a very good card to use! If Jack had turned evil and used it then uh yeah lights fo Satellite haha. Truly amazing cards from the original trio of yugioh!

Hopefully, when Animation_Chronicle_2025 is released next year, i hope we get some more ojama support cards or other support for different archtypes

the earthbound is interesting because it almost like there planning to make a second Red dragon type of deck base on if Jack went full on dark signer , which be down to see how they do that.

I remember when I found out 5ds had some episodes that were skipped over in the dub. Not the last arc of the show but the ones truly skipped over and I remember tracking them down and watching them. At first I didn’t get why they were skipped over but then I got to those episodes where Jack got red nova dragon. My guess on why those were skipped might because 4kids didn’t want to take on a storyline that involved the devil. So seeing that become an official is surreal. I guess Konami knows that the people that grew up with 5ds in English probably found those episodes by this point and think it’s not as big of a deal to make a card from it 14 years later.

People missed out that Earthbound Red Nova is the Earthbound counterpart to the Crimson Dragon. So it’s appropriate that it turns itself into another Earthbound like how the Crimson Dragon turns itself into any Signer Dragon. Its main problem is that the Earthbound Immortals suck LOL

The "Immortals" perhaps, but the "Servants" from the Extra Deck are somewhat decent.

In the anime, not even the dark signers attempted to use red nova and it was shown to have power rival in the Crimson dragon

Of course the Blue-Eyes retrain happens to be the 4th card of Rage of the Abyss.

Interesting both jack and yugi grandfather had finally got their own support cards that reference that to event and moments in both anime and manga series like yugi grandfather originally had blue eyes white dragon monster before being cut by sato kaiba and jack witness red scar nova the strongest of earthbound immortal had finally got real life cards

So basically the blue eyes card is the one to represent the card kaiba ripped in half

I'm actually surprised that Break the Seal wasn't made into an actual card before. Crimson Devil, Scar-Red Nova became a real card. Well, it would be a good support for a Red Dragon deck.

I've been wanting the Crimson Devil as an official Earthbound Immortal card since that episode and its finally here, plus its effects literally Summons Red Nova Dragon from the Extra Deck just like how Jack use its power to make Red Nova Dragon with Blazing Soul. Edit: Also in a way, this is just like the Crimson Dragon as both boss monsters are able to Special Summon their savants (Signer Dragon/Earthbound Immortal) with their effects.

Unrelated comment about Joey, just putting it here. Joey has a tendency to rip off other people's strategies. Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon rips off Bandit Keith. Lord Of The Red rips off that Valon guy from the Waking The Dragon arc. Graverobber steals his opponents cards. Copycat copies his opponents monsters. Red-Eyes wasn't even originally his card, he won it from Rex Raptor, along with Jinzo. Black Skull Dragon was a monster that Yugi created, but Joey stole the idea to use against Yugi in their duel. Yugi also has a tendency to make his guys ride dragons such as Gaia riding Curse Of Dragon, Black Luster Soldier riding Blue-Eyes Ultimate, and DM/DMG riding Timaeus (plus now DMOC riding BEUD). No one else really does this, except Joey copying it in Battle City with Alligator Sword Dragon.

Called every character of their japanese names but kept Yugi's grandpa as Solomon Muto instead of his japanese name, Sugoroku Muto. Sorry, I have to call out the little things.
