Good idea

I would like to see the US create a "Year of Service" mandatory for all HS graduates. (People who volunteer for the military would be exempt). Get these kids out of state, work on projects for the community they are sent and integrate education into the program. Teach them basic life skills like how to budget and file taxes, but most importantly, let them see a different part of the country and meet people raised differently then themselves to see that, we are in fact, not that different.
