@@gahbah274 Nah, $500k would be on the higher end of the scale for a complete car. They've moved to a single chassis manufacturer which has reduced the tube frame cost from $70k to less than $30k. engine and trans combo will come in around $150k, a standardized body instead of custom fabricated stuff brings the costs way down and limiting teams to a maximum of 7 cars for the season keeps a Hendrick with a customer chassis and car for every single track from utter dominance as compared to a smaller team that doesn't have a track simulator to perfect the suspension without leaving the shop. I know it's a lot and it looks pretty crappy, but when you think about it, the small teams might be able to figure out one little trick to make their cars faster. A big team has a team of 50 engineers running simulations to figure out tons of tricks and, if someone else comes up with one, what their trick was too. Most of the rulebook is there to keep the field competitive, the next largest part is to make it safer and the last bit is to frustrate and/or confuse the hell out of everyone just because.

As an American I dont care for NASCAR (Respect the drivers and teams for sure) but when it was announced last year that a Cup Cars would be entering Le Mans it was the one thing i was looking forward too about the race this year and i love watching WEC

Grew up with a DISDAIN for nascar, but seeing the effort Garage 56 put in was amazing. 39th overall is an amazing result for a first time entry, and it made me wish the broadcast focused more on this car than the Hypercars, which is nuts because i was the most excited about them before this car was announced.

​@@anarchyandempires5452 the corvette was there, in GTE AM class (the winner)... And Cadilac on top class (finished 3th and 4th). This experience of GM with the NASCAR nextgen camaro was one of, the garage56 every year takes a different "experimental" car, just look at the weird nissan in 2012, a strande delta car, but light, less powerful than GT cars and impressively fast.

Cracked me up when asked if the engine will last for the whole race. "Ummm, have you not seen a 500 mile race with these engines running full tilt nearly non-stop for the entire race?" Aside from the occasional pit stop and yellow caution laps, those engines are made to take that kind of abuse.

Yeah but the immense stress the engine goes through with fluctuation in RPMs and temperature and air/fuel ratios and all that stuff. At least when they’re flat out, everything is at constant equilibrium

They lowered the redline RPM's by about 2000 for longevity. No doubt it was going to make the 24 hours

There’s a good thing for NASCAR because they’ll be able to field test modifications that can be brought over to NASCAR races in the states.

What a world class team! I grew up watching F1 and NASCAR with Button and Johnson. Seeing them and their crew push the car to its limits even though they are competing with anyone is just awesome. All I care about is getting that car across the line for the whole 24 hours!

Its official, nascar needs more road races at night and lights. They looks sick lit up!! And apparently in this version are surprisingly good at it.

The manual jack at pitstops is awesome. they could have done more in adapting the car with air jacks and a real wing but its really still a NASCAR.

The road courses thst NASCAR has run since the dawn of the sport apparently don't exist then.

I say since a few of the Europeans werent happy about the noise from this one NASCAR, next year we send six. I quite enjoyed that Cadillac and Corvette did very well in the same race.

Sadly, the Camaro didn't finish in a good position, however just its appearance was iconic enough, specially in this edition of LeMans, it'll be on the history books from now that's sure

It was around p27 when i went to sleep. Only to find out it had an issue that made it massively drop places. It was faster than the gt3s and nearly keeping up with the lmp2s on the straights. Definitely an iconic car here

@@marioelburro1492 When it had the first problem with the brakes it was behind two GTs. As power/weight ratio the NASCAR car is above the GTs, so the position was not surprising.

It did in fact, not make it 24h without any trouble. The only reason it was allowed to complete race was because it wasn't in competition.

Yea. The manual jack was not an issue because the spring in the jack had been adjusted to be able to pick the car up high enough to change the tires with 1 pump.

They run on many road courses and this year introduced street racing, as well as dirt racing a couple years ago. I understand the appeal for road racing, but for the most part, those races in NASCAR tend to be less exciting. Oval racing has more passing, side by side racing, battling, etc. In a road course, you can force him into a mistake to pass or give him a nudge and move him. As well as some drivers are just noticeably better. On ovals, however, its flat out the entire time, or just lifting and you have to draft, its harder to pass. Ive seen them run 3 wide multiple laps without being able to clear each other. Or youll see multiple passes on the same lap. 3, 4, 5+ wide. Some tracks, the field is so close and at such high speed that you can be 30th place and +.9sec from the leader. And thats no exaggeration, I've seen that many times, 30+ cars within a second from the lead.

I love Europeans gushing over American Iron. What's awesome about American cars is that you don't have to be a multi millionaire to own a capable track car. In my state, we don't have mandatory inspections, so if you had a title and plates you can drive a Nascar on the street. Just be quiet around cops and don't let them see your tires.
