I think if they put in an interface to already existing NAS devices that we already own that would be a lot better!

I totally agree! Sadly I don’t believe or see anything like this coming soon. So sadly it’s not something they care about.

Wyze has cancelled this. There will be no Wyze MaxDrive.

Aha Thanks man! Yeah I can't wait either. I love my new intro, short sweet but the outro wasn't supposed to be all sped up but KZread only gives me 20 seconds for end cards... didn't realize that when I recorded it. SO... speed it up and make it fit was my option right now. Will fix that in the future ones.

@@GrossTechnology The more I think about this Max Drive....it does kind of bother me that there is no redundancy. If it is going to act as a DVR alone, single drive isn't a huge concern but to use it as a shared NAS device...not having RAID would really make me hesitate to use it for that.

Well as far as the redundancy goes for the camera footage, Wyze actually talks about the MaxDrive being the backup to what is on the 14 day cloud and a back up from the sd cards in each camera. Not that I'll be using it that way, but that is how they are looking at this. Also, that being said, we don't know what the software will allow for in the MaxDrive. Could be possible to link it to back up to say dropbox or google drive. Final point they make is this MaxDrive shouldn't be your first or only recording backup, it should be the second or third in the tier.

@@GrossTechnology Makes sense. The Maxdrive will not then be used as a replacement for teh SD card(s) for say continuous recording. It will just back up the infromation that is on the cards or cloud. Which, still brings up the question on how continuous recording will be kept on this system. Very interested in all of this for sure, alot of questions!

Totally! And its all up in the air for now till we see what it can really do. I will be using it as the only backup, don't feel like having a bunch of micro SD cards around... less redundant but cheaper!

I really liked the intro too.

Unfortunately, Wyze has announced an indefinite delay in the release of the Max Drive due to difficulties on the part of their partner. They are hinting that they may need to release a different product.

That is correct. Was talking with Max about it, going to do another update very soon on it. But yeah sad about this not happening Q1 for sure.

They haven't specifically said canceled, but its definitely on hold, for a while. Ellos no han dicho específicamente cancelados, pero definitivamente está en espera, por un tiempo.

Roygiv856 yeah unfortunately since moving things around in the shed, it has made a bad echo, so I try and counter that with an effect... called locked in a closet. But I am working on fixing this. Thanks for the compliment!

The "14-day cloud storage" sounds good until you find out it's only a 12 second clip at a time, with a cooldown of 5 minutes. Worthless. This is not a cool product; what would be cool would be allowing us to record to our own NAS.

If you actually look at most other systems it’s the standard for most.

I just got my first Wyze cam, and WOW, it's awesome!! This max drive would be the next best thing!! Any idea when it comes out? Great video by the way!!

Sadly.... either never or very long from now. The project has been put on hold

Wrong. Wyze didn't "make" anything. They took another camera and re-branded it. Get it straight.

No actually if you take apart the camera that is the most similar, you’ll see that as for the shell, yes the same but internally, they are different.
