Thank you Mr. Bison and everyone at Shaftesbury for a most delightful way to spend a Saturday afternoon while in lockdown. With such excellent musicians and a superb composer such as Robert Carli, it gives me hope for the future of music.

I am grateful I found this series when I did. Because now I can just sit and wonder what my ancestors did with the concepts that became actually mundane and kinda taken for granted by someone like me who was born late into the 20th century. And how I now too see those same concepts ever-changing as time continues on in the start of the new millennium, and the 21st century.

I'm a violinist and was in a symphony orchestra for 20 years. It was an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. I also took part in smaller ensembles Hopefully it was as enriching for the audience as it was for the musicians. Thank you for sharing.

Bravi! Bravi! So gorgeously performed! 💗 👏 I do find it a shame how the musicians weren’t individually named as they deserve mention. The fantastic Toronto musicians are: Yolanda Bruno, violin Eri Kosaka, violin Theresa Rudolph, viola Emmanuelle Beaulieu Bergeron, cello Jeffrey Beecher, double bass Eric Abramovitz, clarinet And of course, Rob Carli, as composer/conductor (who’s also a kickass saxophone player).

This was great! The intros.by Yannick were very insightful. It's a good way to share musical cheer in the new year. Peter: here's a story idea; have Alwyn Jones come back as an adult. There would be a lot of interesting scenarios since he already knew Murdoch as a kid.

I’ve never laughed as hard as when you claim Brahms composed over 200 sonatas and Symphonies: to clarify, he wrote 4 symphonies, 3 Violin Sonatas, 2 Cello Sonatas, 2 Clarinet Sonatas and 3 Piano Sonatas (as well as other works that don’t fall in the either the sonata or symphony categories).
