Concerned about wall insulation and heat sources? As concerns the half wall, why not consider using a translucent glass wall. That way you can take advantage of light coming in above the front door and when the door is open and still provide a barrier so people can’t see what is on the second floor. These transparent and semi transparent walls are very popular in the US and give a very modern feel.

Looking out of the windows: such a lovely view and neighborhood. The taste of a village. When your facade is finished the neighbors will enjoy it and this is also an advantage for the people who will live there. 🔑🏫

It going to be so light, bright and beautiful! You all have been working so hard! I hope that you can get as much done before the season starts at the Chateau. I have said it before, set up a couple of trail cams (hidden) to catch anyone breaking in. They work in the dark too. And take batteries. It would give me a little more secure feeling to know that you could possibly catch someone. The new windows are going to make all the difference also in security.

Just a thought, would it have been possible to use the tall beautiful front door but divide it into two sections? The top portion of the door would be stationary, the bottom section would be short enough so you could close up the floor above. Similar to how the old massive gates have a smaller entry door.
