A Masterclass In Studying as a First Class Law Student
If you want to study like a first class law student, you NEED to stop taking notes. When we're at school we're never really taught how to study, and this leads people to adopting a default position. One where we rely on reading, re-reading, highlighting, underlining, summarising textbooks, writing down everything the lecturer says, and rote memorisation. Unfortunately, this is an extremely passive way to learn and hundreds of studies have demonstrated that this is an extremely ineffective method of revising a subject. So in this video I break down the two-step method that every law student should take when trying to study law.

This channel requires more subs. Where are all the law students at? Thanks for the videos, Gareth. I think it is about time I changed my approach which has failed me year after year. It makes perfect sense to follow the guidance you have put out in your videos. It is time to make a change.

Really sorry for the slow reply!! But thank you so much for the kind words and I wish you the best of luck with your studies! Let me know if you need any help 😄
I’ve watched all your videos multiple times - they are incredibly helpful, well researched, and simple to implement! Really appreciate it. What are your thoughts on briefing cases and how to do that effectively

Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching my videos 😁 I made a video on reading/understanding/summarising cases a few months ago which you may find interesting (kzread.info/dash/bejne/lnqjqqOHo86-nbg.html). Is there anything in particular you struggle with?
Love this and very helpful. Is your note bank of notes for each lecture on a different page to your active recall questions for your lectures? Thank you bro!
