A film about a family. Mum, dad, six kids and 50 wild horses, a beach, a mountain and a burnt down house.
Against the stunning beauty of New Zealand's rugged Ruahine Mountains, Peter Karena and his wife Colleen struggle to instill in their kids the values of independence, courage and happiness. The family has little in the way of material possession but they possess a physicality most of us can only dream of. The children ride bareback as they hunt and play in the wild. Unafraid and untamed, they are supremely confident, as if risk is an alien concept.

It's easy to see which side walks on the beauty road and which walks in envy. Narcissists are blooming in every culture now, what kind of father kicks his grandchildren out of the family home?

What are ya doing? You give us a bit but not telling us if they are ok. I see in the end the kids seem happy. They look healthy and clean. They have a roof to keep them warm and dry plus a place to sleep. That big slob that kicked them out needs to not eat so much and work hard long me that father does. It makes me angry when I see people take their things away by force.
