@@elisharimam4598 There are TONS of movies when _even the cast_ doesn't help. It's all up to writers, really. Cast's job becomes much harder if the writers can't write lines properly.

There's nothing about my favorite character, Conrad Hensley in San Francisco, the Suicidal Freezer Unit, prison & his stoic philosophy awakening. That balanced out the greed & obscene luxury of Croker.

Read the book decades ago. I actually worked in a ginormous "Suicidal Freezer Unit" in Honolulu so that part of the book really stuck to me. It was so strange to bust my ass like I was working on the North or South Pole and then punching out and riding a bus back home to Waikiki.

@@seanreilly9815 I worked in one at Sysco. It stayed at 10 below. I read the book when it came out in '98. I was amazed at how accurate Tom Wolfe's description was.

Interesting. I read that book a couple of times about 20 years ago and I wondered if anyone would ever try to make a show or movie out of it. There is SO MUCH going on in that book that I'm skeptical about how this is going to turn out but I gotta give it a try when it comes out.

@@punchkitty007 That was the part I was most skeptical about - How they were going to work in some whole side story about an unemployed guy getting his car impounded, ending up in prison, becoming a Stoic and escaping during an earthquake. I had a feeling that wasn't gonna make the cut.

Oh my god I've seen Jeff Daniels live at the State theater in Kalamazoo Michigan and he is amazing. Just the first episode it had me pictured Trump being in Daniel's position at that point of time. Oh how I would love to see him squirm and be talk to you that way and put in his place. How exciting

Funny, when the book was first released decades ago a lot of people expected the movie to be made immediately with Jack Nicholson in the Charlie Croaker role.
