I do like the look of those clamps, and live builds are always fun. Although with the time difference, I'm not sure my downstairs neighbour will appreciate it quite as much! 😆
That's a pretty cool project. I might try to make a set. Thanks for the idea.
I've always admired your work. I like this style of video too!
Well done
Awesome! Beautiful! Cool!
Really beautiful work, James! 😃 Simple, but really effective! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
love it James.
Great video transfixed
[Eddie Murphy grandma voice] Luth-uh-REE! Luth-uh-REE! Fun project; looking forward to trying something similar before too long.
Nice work James. Can you please talk about them on your next live stream as well as the original one(I want to see them in more detail). Keep up the good work. 🙂
Quercus you say? Yes, over here it seems like oak is extremely rare and precious…prices are eyewatering high. Exceptionally good video as always James. 😉 Ten thumbs up! 🔟*️⃣👍🏻
Thanks for sharing that and the make!
Nicely done James! Very interesting type clamp that I was not familiar with! 👍👍
Very well done!😊
Give some thought to adding a cam lock to the outside, sliding jaw just to make life easier on the end user. Ref. "Classic Guitar Construction," Irving Sloane. I do like the slim form and apparent good grip on this (your) build. Looking forward to seeing the full function in action as in; set a bridge.

The cam is a more modern addition. And it does make it easier to use but it also adds a lot more complexity to it.
I have seen that people have commented below.

Can you please get a full view of you using the a hand drill and saws?

I do on the how to channel. This channel isn't as much for teaching as it is for just the fun of the video. The other channel is where I do all of the instruction and education.
I am curious why you didn’t mark and drill the tenon while the piece was whole? At the same time as when you drill the first two holes.

Originally I was going to make the holes ever so slightly angled so that the Jaws would be pitched in towards each other. And when under pressure they'd be at 90°. Creating that angle hole would mean I'd have to cut them separately. But then after cutting them I made the decision to just keep them at 90°. That's the fun of experimenting and trying new things and playing around.
Hmmm was that a ring on a drill to keep an eye on level?

Yes
It would have worked with PVA glue as well - right, James?

Sure. In this case I was just in a hurry so I used 5 minute epoxy.
