    Honestly, just build new house with reinforced basement and blast door. Much more worth it. You can then make everything to your needs, and bunker that's in your house it always going to be more useful not just as bunker. And you can actually use and maintain it day to day. Remote bunker like this sounds cool, but you need to get there first, it's harder to maintain due to probably being quite way off, and you can't really use it for normal stuff like you could one under your house.

    Having worked for several tower communications companies, I’ve been in many of these AT&T 1960 era decommissioned bunker facilities over the years. Was always fascinated by them and wanted to own one, especially now, to hide from future drone wars. There’s a big one in the desert between Las Vegas and Los Angeles that used to be manned when the President was in flight during the Cold War, to keep communications to Air Force One & the Doomsday plane up in case of an emergency scenario. Interesting stuff!

It also included everyone else, both slaves and people who were free. 16 They called out to the mountains and rocks, 'Fall on us!'" I worked for the Bell System/Illinois Bell/Southern Bell/South Central Bell/BellSouth and at the end of my 41 year career, AT&T. 1969-2010. I was in at least 100 different Central Offices, all above ground, and they were bomb proof with 3 ft thick walls and roofs. The Data Centers were built the same with basements and sub basements. I never did get to see anything like these underground structures. The Data Center I was in had 6 huge turbine diesels that could power a small city. In the 50's these Central Offices were official Civil Defense Bunkers with huge supplies of food and water with other provisions. They no longer build anything this good anymore. If you get a chance to buy an old 50's-60's AT&T Central Office, do it if your budget will allow it. The ONLY building that did not have ANY damage from Hurricane Andrew in Homestead, FL was( HMSTFLMA) Central Office . It was up and running with diesel power and the switching equipment still working, only there were no facilities outside that were not destroyed.

    There is a AT&T bunker in Virginia. It is in awesome condition, if I remember correctly it is almost 20,000 sq ft., completely updated, they live there year round. While they have the ability to connect to power, they are completely off grid, have several large capacity storage batterries that enable them to have no concerns of running out of power. They get paid for spots on the tower that is still in use. Nice video, know right where it is, my wife is from Manhattan Kansas. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy 😊 and healthy. If you could dig down deep enough (10-20km) where the rock temperate us 500 degrees C, you could run a steam turbine, an endless source of energy! There are companies working on it, so if not right now, that source of energy will soon be available... at least for those with deep enough pockets. I also guess that in places like Hawaii that could be doable at much less depth, which would explain why a lot of the ultra rich are suddenly going out there to build bunkers.

    If I were a billionaire and I had $10M budgeted to spend on that place, I'd probably build a large house on top of the entrance, put a wall around the property to turn it into a family compound, hire some hippies to turn unallocated land into a permaculture food forest with the understanding, should the time come, they would come into the bunker. I'd build a legitimate bank vault type structure to replace the current topside building and the building itself would be built to withstand a 12 PSI overpressure and roughly 7 PSI overpressure for windows. So, if there was a scare, the family would come in to hang out at the compound and if the time were to arise it was necessary to go underground, that would be as simple as going downstairs. I'd also work on emergency escapes, putting in equipment to keep things running, some health and fitness equipment, some wordy word books, communications equipment, etc. I think I would also bring in an interior decorator. You can tell that he is ready to get out of there after 6 months. I'm not sure if that is the most strategic place to make a $10M investment, though, that would require more research and analysis.

    Great bunker if you are either there or have a few days warning to get to it. For a "Bolt Out of The Blue" or surprise attack, this bunker is useless because it is too far away to get to. If you live there that is a wonderful bunker and would be great to own as a secondary bunker you can have if time permits to get to it. Your primary bunker needs to be where you live or work so you can get to it within 20 minutes to an hour after attack max, if you are not in the blast or fireball in which case you will be turned into carbon ash... This would also make a great bunker for a group to buy. Another great video. Many pros and cons for every bunker but this one is great. A simple "U" or double "U" entrance also negates the need for massive $50,000 blast doors. Also, Why do you need a nuclear blast bunker in an area that will not get nuked? All you need is a radiation/tornado bunker there and that can be above ground and then covered in gravel and soil at a much lower cost and much less maintenance. Do not let emotion allow you to buy something you do not need. Use some of your rational thinking skills BEFORE buying a bunker that is much more than what you need or not where you actually need it to be.

    I'm not sure what I'd do with a bunker like this but live in it...I'd probably close down some of that kitchen area so I didn't feel like I'm living in a factory... hide some of the more industrial features... bring in some more entertainment, I didn't see much in the way of televisions or computers. Most certainly you'd need a work out area... maybe put a hot tub in or tiny pool.. also I'd have to find somewhere to put in my pottery wheel.... but it's not like I could afford it anyway... lol!

    Awesome! If I had the money... 😁 That looks great. Lots of head room in the theatre room. You could split the room an make that have two floors for more rooms. If I seen that place, id just assume its some sort of weather station or something. I just looked up AT&T bunkers and found a little piece on one (Not the one in video "I think") which says : Alfred Easton Poor. Photo from Core77 Constructed in 1967, the 7,700 square-foot bomb shelter was built by AT&T to be used in the event of a nuclear disaster to house five people for up to 30 days to keep the lines of communication open. Sure the one in this video could hold more than 5 people for longer than 30 days! 😅🍻🍻

  • @NothingButSilicone

    @NothingButSilicone

    30 days? How do they come up with those figures? The water storage tank has 10,000 gallons in it. In such a scenario, a person only needs 1 gallon per day. With all of that space, you could have years and years of freeze dried food. So much space for food that you’d have to worry about its shelf life first, which is 25 years. The only problem this one would have is power. It’s connected to the grid. It needs solar panels, a battery bank, and a whole lot of fuel for the diesel generators, because the panels and wiring might not make it due to the EMPs. I’d think that 5 people could live in this thing for 5 years. After a certain amount of time goes by, it would be safe enough to head back up and replace the panels and wiring. It’s really the first few weeks that is the most dangerous. In this thing, you wouldn’t have to worry about that. I mean… in this thing, you could set up a greenhouse with grow lights even. You could have fish even.
