I'm seriously close to pull8ng the trigger here. Question for you that uses one. Does the presser foot leave marks on the leather. I'll be using it mostly for belts made from crazy horse, high pull up leather.

When I first saw this video I was not that impressed since I have a Sailrite Leatherwork which is cheaper and has a 1/4 hp motor (which was doa but Sailrite got me new one quick). However, after learning in the most recent video - "Explore Weaver Leather Supply with Chuck Dorset" - that this machine is actually 100% made in USA, I can now understand the price and I'm sure the quality is really high. It's also an awesome-looking machine, like something you'd see at a farm show or world's fair.

Really want one! Looking to move in a few months and have a baby on the way. Maybe after the move I can save up for one. Would be nice to be able to sew without the loud banging of hand sewing.

He didn’t mention treadle or power accessories? Or show the sewing in action… perhaps he can in a future video? It looks ideal for on the horse farm where there is no power. I’d like to see him make a horse halter with it.

I just wish that Weaver had a UK based distributor… would love to own one of these, but the shipping costs are prohibitive unfortunately… oh well, more hand sewing it is… lack the space for an electric cylinder arm

@@thomasbeckett1245 yeah, I get that… I live in a suburb in the UK and one of the bedrooms has been converted into an office/man cave/leather studio - so it’s a multi-use space… this would be ideal for me but around at least a 10% shipping charge on top of the price is a bit steep when I have seen suitable electric machines for less, I can’t justify the additional expense presently. But space is the issue… just wish it was available here easily

Yes, the thread we use has wax on it and it does sew a round corner, you just have to take your time around the corners and make sure you're guiding the leather.

@@WeaverLeatherSupplymy wife won't let me buy it, it's 2x the price of my current machine and it's electric like the other guys too. I do like the look and it's manual which is very neat. But $2000!? Why so expensive, even if you sold it at $1000 I can say its for research & design and highest quality. What is it made of to be so expensive or what causes it to be so high in price?

$2000 is ridiculous considering for $120 Amazon has a Chinese manual leather sewing machine with 10x videos on KZread showing how great it is, sure you need to make a base. But $120!? Is very hard to beat $700 for this is max I can do, including tax and speed shipping. $2000! Christ the cowboy leather sewing machine is $1500

Compare it to quality electric cylinder arm sewing machines that can sew 3/4" thick leather. Those machines are $6k+. $2k for a quality US built machine that is this easy to use is certainly worth it.

@@ZaneErickson your right. I recently got into sewing and don't fully understand yet, so im shocked by prices. Further looking into it it's not a bad deal as you say. Last year it was $1500 from seeing old comments and it went up by 25% lol so it's definitely selling to people who are skilled to know its worth. I will say weaver did a horrible job explaining the value to new people, as to new people it does seem super expensive, until you understand the cost of things does it look reasonable and a good price. I now want one 😩
