That's a gem. Someone stole mine, but I have a rack version of the Mirage, so I'm still in the mix. Lo-fi drums and sound efx is my main use of it. When you want some gritty sounds you can't go wrong.

This instrument is the sound of Janet Jackson's "Control" and "Rhythm Nation" albums as well as many other Jam & Lewis productions from the mid to late 80's. At some point, they surely could have afforded a more expensive (and higher bitrate) sampler, but they really liked it. It didn't have the best UI, but there were various computer programs you could use to edit the samples (for Mac, Atari ST, the Commodore 64, and perhaps other platforms). Jimmy Jam famously does not program or sample his own sounds, he relies entirely on presets. So if a keyboard has good presets, he probably owned it.
