Plus he was instrumental in the return of the Voyager.

He's my favourite TNG character because I identify with him the most: a brilliant man in his field, but a basketcase when interacting with other people.

Howling mad murdock in the mirror universe should have been an episode.

Reg and Seven? I had not thought of this perfection. That's a really great point.

In the right time and place, Reg would make the BEST recruitment material for Starfleet. He proves you don't have to be some impossible perfect ideal in order to be an important contributor to human progress.

I think Barclay should have been a crew member on voyager full time

Part of the reason for the delay was I wanted to re-record all the audio. Obviously my situation made it impossible to do more than a line here or there, so apologies for the audio quality.

I always loved Barclay. He seems like the most realistic character on the show. I enjoyed watching him come to terms with himself over the few episodes they gave him, and saw a lot of growth in him. He should've gotten more episodes, or been a main character in a story arc somewhere.

I definitely feel that Reg is something of a viewpoint character, that many people (not just fans) can sympathize with. You have these larger than life main characters, but then there's Reg, this easily overlooked guy who doesn't always communicate well and prefers to be left to his own devices. Glad to have the character videos coming back up!

Neat that this is coming back out now since right now the IDW comics has Barclay focus series "Terra Incognita" in which Mirror Barclay has snuck over and taken over for "Normal" Barclay.

I love Barclay. He's so incredibly relatable, and such an exceptionally accurate embodiment of high functioning(read: fairly good at hiding it) autism, which can only have happened by accident, since that point of the spectrum wasn't recognised at the time.

Reg is the Starfleet everyman the guy who clocks in for his shift works his job and then clocks out and go home

I think Barcley is exactly the kind or person Starfleet needs. Sure he's not the military example of an officer but he can be the kind that betters the Federation.

Another excellent episode.. I appreciated Dwight Shultz from his time on "The A Team" and I was amazed and enraptured by his performance on TNG, specifically "The Nth Degree"

I always imagine that the 99.9% of starfleet we dont see are people like Reg and he just slipped though somehow.

Mr.Schultz already had a recognisable fanbase from A-Team (->1987) before he joined StarTrek (1990->). This is an asset for producers to let him stay in the show whereas I am not aware that the other actors had that standing.

Barclay strikes me as the kind of guy that the villain could feel free to gloat about his plan to, because nobody'd believe him. Similar to the second Blue Beetle, God rest his soul.
