Thank you, @@dertythegrower I am using Starlink now, great service . Our islands share similar threats as the Keys but are warmer straddling the equator and more exposed to the open ocean. all challenges for the grower. Thanks
Galangal and the birds eye chilis would be fantastic for Thai curry!
Looking forward to when your company graphic has to be updated with your new house mascot and guard frog.
Congratulations on your dragon fruit! Amazing success.
I always enjoy your videos. But these walk around ones are the ones I love the most. Thank you for sharing all of your work with us.
More Supervisor Frog please
The moss poles remind me of the alien plant that almost killed Commander Riker (where my Star Trek fans at?)
Mate your yard is looking amazing, I couldn't believe the pumpkin plants they took over! Great video thanks for sharing Mitchell!
Great video, just love the walk around ones.Always love these updates!
Hey mate. Around 15:16 , "Trouble with Rain", what about a Bell-Syphon? You could set the MAXHIGHT=(Below rim hight, and (Above fill hight)); That way it could self-drain entirely when over capacity. By doing that you could ensure your nutrients never go below a particular level-Dilution. You will've to turn off the system with any extended rain. (we can fix that with also with a calculator).

16:50 omg. That pumpkin.
Nice garden mate. I can't help but think that your Prado is missing HydroLand and KegLand bumper stickers though.
I love the real feel of this video. It is much like the way I do things. Great job.
Thanks Hoocho, yeah you guys have been getting a lot of rain up there this year
I think we need a wall mounted system for orchids like the MHS (modular hydroponic system). Like moss poll meets the MHS.
once again a great way to enjoy my eating my dinner with hoocho on the screen. entertaining and informative
Hi re the pineapples I think you mean ethylene, it’s a gas but also a hormone for plants, bananas make a lot of it as they go over ripe/brown. Apples make it too as they ripen but make less.
Omg yay! I thought you weren't doing these anymore! Brilliant!
Hell yeah, this guy! BIG DOG!! I love an update video! These are an absolute vibe

Cheers mate been meaning to reply to the comment on the rooftop video but I’ve been away 😂 🐕
12:58 I know coffee has the tendency to adopt the flavors of the plants grown around it (vegetable pepper flavors being common as a consequence). I'm very VERY curious if the potatoes will develop ginger flavors as a result.
Hucha, your videos are very motivating, thank you so much!
Great update Hoocho. I had to go back and see when you installed the verticle wall system. I dont know the complete internals of that system, but I would think some circular cutout aluminum screen and some large perlite would slow the water down for you. Plant roots also love the grab onto that for support.
Nice 1 Mr Hoocho. Excellent tour of the garden and studio.
wow those dragonfruits!!! i remember you were planting and training them! Great result
If you have any food pantries in your area, I’m sure they will love to have any of those excess pumpkins you may not be able to eat.
Great video, love seeing the taro and how big they are. Makes me want to set a system up like this to grow some monstrous taro or elephant ear.
Thaks for giving me infinite ideas for when I get a bunch of land :) Love the passion and the ordered chaos. Keep going!

Good on Ya for making a backwards compatible adaptor.

Fantastic update. Thanks
i have a coffee tree on the coast in redlands its almost 3m tall yours will be fine up there
Galangal is extremely similar to ginger, and is a staple of Thai cuisine If you're up for it, you should try to make a galangal beer with your next batch of ginger beer.
You are amazing, sir!
Ethylene, not ether :) and yes, apples do create a bit of that. You can try in the fridge - green banana in with an apple will speed up ripening.
Could you build in a bell siphon on your systems that use float valves? Set it to work at a water level higher than the float valve level? It would have to drain quickly to not just keep pulling nutrients though…
Have you thought of 3-D printing? Caps for the rails of the hydroponic system. Instead of using a heat gun, maybe a whole already in the 3-D print for the tubing
That frog needs a name!
Amazing!
Hope you find a distributer in the US for the Hooch Buckets.
The chemical you're searching for at 10:43 is ethylene. But I'm unsure it will help for fruiting, it's usually applied for ripening prematurely harvested fruits. I wonder if those dragonfruits can be cultivated here in Italy, I saw them a couple of times at the supermarket but I haven't tried them yet. The plant looks so beautiful. Have you ever tried with hydroponic maracuja/passion fruit? EDIT: ok I should have waited a couple of minutes before asking this one :D
They just thrive of neglect and... I´m really good at that. Hoocho: 2024 CE

Super turmeric and ginger
Hey hoocho, I've got a request; can you make a 3d printable dosetron? There are several versions of it, I'd like a printable one too.
Hi Hoochoos
Why not print a cover for the float valve grow containers and drill an overflow, similar to how AutoPot systems work?
I've never seen dragon fruit grow and start fruiting that fast.

Hooch, what happened with the strawberry grow bag experiment on the Rain gutter grow system? Can you point me to the episode I must have missed or fill me in on the outcome?
@Hoocho

Tragic failure. Bags were too hot cause of the small media size vs the black area. Killed plants. It’s mentioned in a video but I forgot which one
What do you use as a medium for your house plants? Are they in hydro?

do you not have issues with salt build up in your self watering gutters or planterers or bags
is the hooch bucket fit the round pvc pipe?
What do you use to measure your PAR from your lights mate? @Hoocho
Hey mate, I have built an NFT system with some downspout and have used 13mm polypipe to supply the nutrient to the top of the channel, however my stream although the channels are level do not go in straight line down to my reservoir, instead they have z zigzag effect, will this affect my NFT?
holy dragon fruit!
Hey Hoocho! I have a lot of figs growing in soilless medium and living off top watering similar to your grapes, etc. Last year I had pretty good luck fertilizing them with Jack's 20-10-20 and didn't notice any deficiencies, but I wonder if they still might not be reaching their full potential. What strength hydroponic solution do you water these plants with? I have the various powders from our indoor hydroponics but I haven't used it to water these outdoor plants yet. Thanks!
@Hoocho
4 ай бұрын
Jacks is actually a hydroponic nutrient, it has all the major macros and micros. I considered using it when I was first staring out.. its generally used for *cough* higher yield crops *cough* So if youre happyy with the cost stick to it... maybe compare the cost with master blend if you're in the US Campbells Diamond white in AUS

@@Hoocho Oh interesting! I didn't realize that, I guess it explains why all the plants still looked happy! Great tasting figs too. I appreciate the reply.
@Hoocho I've seen you had Yara Kristalon in the background in one of the older videos. In my region (Poland) that was the only brand I could find for hydroponics, and I am glad to see you tried it. I am just few days before ordering it. I wonder how it worked for you? And more over what made you choose the "green" one. I was considering "orange", "red", "bronze" ones. One more question, do you remember what ratio of calcinit:"green" did you choose?
