A lone bugler's missed taps note signified a nation's broken heart

Army bugler Keith Clark was the lone bugler sounding taps at Arlington National Cemetery after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. He missed the 6th note, which struck many as listening to the sound of a broken heart.

I was 7 years old - I remember the missed note - my father was an active Navy officer, he said he felt bad for the bugler, but it just seemed apropos for the occasion. I also remember John-John's salute to the casket as the caisson went by. Incredibly sad time, I will never, ever forget! 😢😢😢

I remember everything about those two days. My brother was getting married on my Birthday, November 23rd. My soon to be sister in law's Birthday was November 22nd. They were married in the Catholic church and it was all draped in black velvet...I will never forget that funeral procession or that bugler.. a sad day in history

0:48 "...this time, hitting the sixth note, and every other one, just perfectly." Respectfully, are you deaf?
