I switched from master mx3s to this mouse. Due to the fact that it has 125hz. This one has 1000hz. I can feel the difference in mouse speed. I eat more than 120 hertz on the monitor. And I'm just ecstatic about this mouse. Satisfied with the replacement.

That's the main reason for the perceived lag, if the Mx master had a polling rate of 500 or 1000 it would be the perfect productivity mouse. But no, maybe Mx master 4 will be better.

Weight of a mouse matters if you play fps or rts games competitively. It makes it more comfortable to make quick movements.

i love this mouse , i will keep this above all the gaming mouse in ranks, because of that cool looking design , i don't like the RGB , i had many mice with RGB , now i hate RGB , i don't want it any where , i would rather prefer a single white light over RGB or just no light at all , and i love the two extra buttons near the left click , those r DPI shift buttons , and i want to buy this mouse pretty badly , and i couldn't get to buy it from months , because I'm broke , so be a good teacher and give it away to me PLEASE

On the point of negative reviews, afaik the constructive criticism is what most designers are looking for, a perfect example is the mx master 3 and 3s. It never should have had a polling rate so low for a mouse worth 100+$ that is a design flaw/oversight. On this particular mouse, g502 x/ls/plus the issue for some people is the mousewheel quality differing from mouse to mouse (its likely that theyre being manufactured in more than one place and the acceptable tolerance differs in each one), the hollow-ish clicky feel (thats from person to person, I dont mind it but some do). This kind of criticism is what allows for better products to be made overall, like the razer basilisk v3 which is similar but has a stellar mousewheel, but comes with its own shortcomings. The logi ghub wouldnt have been improved if people didnt rant about it as well, as an exmple.

And to clarify, I have the wireless version (g502 lightspeed) of the same mouse, and I'm loving it, it's definitely priced perfectly for what you're getting, but I reserve judgment for the optical switches as I have no idea if there won't be any other problems with them, btw optical are only the LMB and RMB, the rest are the same standard 20m switches found on the older models as well.

The low polling rate is what allows the battery to last so long. But they should at least allow us to set the polling rate ourselves through the software. I'd happily sacrifice some battery life for a higher polling rate

As someone that has an MX Master 3 currently and am looking to replace it with something else because of the low polling rate, this is the perfect review for me. I don't game at all, i do audio editing and web stuff. Honestly, the MX 3 is basically perfect in every way, it's just that damn 125hz polling rate. The mouse cursor feels choppy or something, it gives my computer kind of a cheaper experience or something. It's gotta go. The mouse itself physically is awesome, feels premium in the hand, nice and solid (instead of hollow), comfortable ergonomics, amazing battery life (because of the low polling rate), but i just can't deal with the choppy mouse cursor anymore. I've been researching mice for 2 days straight, it seems like the G502x series will be the best as far as button programmability and ergonomics. My only reservation is that it might feel a bit more plasticky and cheaper-feeling compared to the MX3? Few questions if you don't mind: 1. Is the mouse cursor movement on the G502x noticeably more smooth and buttery compared to the MX 3? Is it way less choppy? 2. How is the build quality and materials compared to the MX 3? 3. Do you ever hit any buttons by mistake? 4. How do you find the sound of the clicks relative to the MX 3? Thanks so much!

1. yes, it's like night and day. 2. it's good, and it feels like quality but it noticeably lighter so that might make it feel cheaper. 3. no, haven't had any problems 4. I used the silent version of the MX 3 so it's a lot different. I like it, it is different than normal clicks I imagine due to the switches being optical/mechanical.

I already bought the G502 X, and it matched my expectations thanks to this review. The only thing i didn't expect is how much i'd miss the "high hump" of the MX3. I wish the G502X had a higher hump to hold my palm, it's a bit of a strain to hold my hand up. But other than that the mouse is great. Much smoother than the MX imo. More buttons too. @@Thepositivetechguy

Can you use this on the xbox series S?

It will work with the basic functions, right click, left click, etc. You just won't be able to change the polling rate or program any of the buttons.@@SwitchTech01
