okay, a few things i loved 1) your transitions! the hat? the way snufkin turns and it’s him walking out of moomin valley? poetic cinema. 2) snufkin’s grin when he’s standing at the window??? he’s so smitten! i’m weak! 3) moomin running down the hill so fast that he stumbles??? cute cute cute! 4) their lil dance!! dancing kings, young and sweet, only *mumbles*teeeeeeen!! 5) moomin grabbing snufkin’s hat. that’s all. 6) them holding hands. i’m gay. and, overall, you just have a good feel for beat and how to show it in animatics and art, which is very fun to watch. also, i feel like most moomin fan art focuses on moomin’s pov. which is totally fine and often stellar, but i love that you chose to look at how snufkin feels about moomin instead of the other way around. this was a good animatic and i’ve watched it like five times.

This is the same reason I am a transwoman, haha! /lh Seeing a lot of myself in Snufkin made me realize that even with an androgynous voice, it doesn't matter because I get to be who I want to be at the end of the day. Moomin is such a loving story and cartoon. Forever will love both. Tove would be so proud. /gen

I love absolutely everything about this but some of my favorites -Snufkin’s little smile while he’s at the window -THOSE TRANSITIONS (I especially liked the hat!) -you can feel the excitement building when they start running towards each other -Moomin’s little stumble while he’s running down the hill (clumsy boy) -THE DANCE!!!

The Moomins aren't very well known in Brazil, so I remember first reading about them in a graphic novel by Pénélope Bagieu (Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked the World). The book tells the stories of many incredible women, and Tove was one of them. The illustrations were very cute, and Tove's story was specially beautiful. She put pieces of her life in her work, and even created Too-Ticky, a character modelled after Tuulikki, her wife/life partner. Remembering her story, I teared up watching the video. It's such a lovely tribute, you did a great job!

This is 100% one of the most Tender animations, if not The most tender, i have ever seen in my life and i am sobbing. Just.. God there's such a genuine Warmth and Love and Yearning to the vibe of this and i am feeling A Great Many Things because of it. Honestly just, my utmost compliments to you on this absolutely beautiful piece of animation, you've made something that expresses such pure, genuine, and raw emotion in the best of ways and does so more eloquently and gracefully than most big budget animations i've seen in a long while. This is truly so evocative despite, and dare i say partly because of, it's wonderful simplicity. You accomplish such a distinct and wonderful vibe in such a seemingly-simple way, and honestly it's fantastic. Now if you'll excuse me i'm going to be playing this on a loop and sobbing because this is so goddamned fantastic and sweet (and it makes me think of my girlfriend, which only makes it even more sweet to me fghgfdlk)

I have so much to say about this lovely animatic! What a wonderful combination! Your art has perfectly nuanced their expressions and has some really lovely movement, I really admire how you've created their characters so well in their faces and actions, it's so well done. This song is also a really great fit for your art and you've paced it super well! There's something so perfect about this song for Snuf and Moomin - it sounds so happy and dance-worthy but the lyrics hold traces of something else - exactly as the characters do, and I really love the scenarios you paired with each verse. The "ache" verses particularly hit me hard, and altogether I really felt that Snufkin came through really well. Overall, great job!

This is the purest form of being in love I've ever seen. No reasons, no adventure that pulled you together, made you close or forced your company. Just two souls falling in love.

I love seeing people who also watched Moomins as kids. People from literally all over the world, watching different translations but all are in the same fandom since diapers i assume

here to share: several times now, I’ve read a comment or author’s note that says, « i was inspired by this, and of course, this classic » (or something like that), with a link that leads right back here. This is exactly how things should be!!
