Even Boa said it's not good if kpop company still debuting a minors (bcus they are not ready for something that kids shouldn't have going through it when they debut as idol but minors) And the only thing that i always aware about minors debut is they being sexualize on twitter. my only nightmare are, A woman getting sexualize and a minor & a girl getting sexualize. That's it Well, i still like newjeans song but their agency should take a note next time if want to debuting another group

I understand they’re young but it’s annoying asf to see all the people like “I just can’t support them, they’re too young…” like? Majority of idols debut very young and or/ become a trainee and move away from home at a very young age, if you have a problem with it (justifiable btw) then don’t get into Kpop. These are still people who have dreams and chalking them up to kids who should’ve waited to debut is just rude and a wet towel on all the hard work they’ve put into it. It’s ridiculous the amount of hate they get bc their age when there’s tons of other groups both female and male that are the same age range as them but alas they don’t get constantly berated for it.

@@sumysim3245 company’s are gonna keep debuting younger idols especially in 4th gen, it’s inevitable. their parents also agreed to this so it would be disrespectful to just not look at them because of their age, they put a lot of hardwork as a trainee

Many artist that start acting or singing at the young age, they said, they regret saying yes to their parents to pursue being artist/celebrity, and that's only one of the reason why many people having doubt of some kpop idols debuting at young age. sorry for my english

People are surpise by their age but literally a lot of 3rd gen idols like tzuyu, jungkook, wonyoung etc were like 14-16 when they debuted

hyein....i've watched her since play with me club and she replied to my comments 3-4 times saying "this is hyein replying" i'm blessed hdffjhfkjkskzkfd but honestly...i've always wondered what she was gonna do in the future with such amazing dance skills (i wanted her and naeun to collab) and suddenly boom she appears as an idol one day

Right. They’re just getting older. It’s been 4-5 months into New Jeans’ debut and people still complain. Leeseo from IVE was literally 14 too when she debuted, but it feels like people got over that within a short time.

New Jeans has good chemistry and great potential. But I agree with you that it is putting very young teenagers in the spotlight and the same young members throughout the history of kpop or fame in general have talked about how this experience changed them. I also hope that they take care of them well, because with the popularity they have, it is very likely that they carry them at a very heavy work rate and that the stalkers and haters that their senior groups have will seek them out.

I don't like the idea of idols debuting under the age of 16 but i also don't like when people say it's because of sexualization and weird old men, just bc you're over 18 doesn't make that anything better like im 18 and I still feel as disgusted as I was at 14 when men complimented my body and shit, the real problem with them debuting that young is that they might not be sure what they want in life or are not ready for the spotlight but honestly if you have the support from your parents and the company knows how to help and protect you it isn't that bad, like you can see hyein likes this and was born to be an idol also I would like to say that the one time I was highly uncomfortable with this type of things was wonyoung in pd48 (she's the same age as me and is the prime example of born to be idol) she was 13 and in a survival show of mnet now that idk how to feel about that bc they did so many things wrong...

idol debut contract usually lasts for 7 years, so by the times hyein get the chance to renew her contract, she will be just around 21, so she can figure out whether she want to remain as an idol or start her uni life as she will it. Same goes for the rest of the members. The only difference is, they will already have reach their financial liberty by that times.

Jungkook debuted at 15 years old. He started training at around 12-13 years old. And see where he is now! He had crazy talent even when he was very young and BigHit/Hybe managed his career with BTS pretty well.

Ahaha, I'm the same age as Hyein...what am I doing with my life... Also the whole thing with the younger age stuff with new debuting groups. I think it's actually normal by now, it may not be percieved by some as normal because when they were like 14 and other 14 year olds debuted, it seemed normal to them but they've grown up and it seems weird because they're older than them now, but it's actually the same as before. Keep in mind that some big groups like Red Velvet and BTS had their maknaes debuting at 15 and 16 which is practically the same thing as 14, but no one right now is complaining about how young they were... K-companies tend to debut younger people because they want to keep them on the hook until they're of no use to them, aka when they're either in their mid-20s or older, because the general audience tends to gravitate towards younger people. I'm not sure if it's just because of how much energy they have or maybe because they just want to stay with what's fresh. Either way, even if you don't like younger people debuting, it's going to happen. I actually think that if we don't support them, it'll just be reinforcing the whole toxic K-POP thing we're trying to keep them away from as teens. You don't have to follow them, but I hate it when people talk about how they don't want minors debuting because the limelight is hard, then they go on to age-shame. It's like...what? You're trying to "protect" them from the world and give them their childhood, and yet you're here hating on their ages... Also sorry Seb, when I say you, I'm not referring to YOU you, I mean whoever is reading.

I guess it was a matter of timing. ADOR saw the opportunity to monopolize the rebirth of this kpop genre. Yes, their chosen members are young, but to them it’s now or never. We can only assume that the members really dreamed of being a kpop idol and are having the best time of their lives. More power to newjeans!

i mean harry styles started his career as a 16 years old in one direction. so.... its pretty common the age thing whether is in western culture or eastern

ugh I looked older than I was when I was their age too and I did singing/dancing/acting part time and it freaks me out to see them or even think about people like miley cyrus who was 13 when she started hannah montana !!! it makes me feel really divided on the issue because arts are important but there should be limits on training time and age and things like that

Still, they cannot appear in music shows like Music Bank or Inkigayo (they can only perform in events, but not promote on tv) because there are actually age restriction by the broadcasting commitee, which is 14 years old. If you're a kpop fans since 2nd gen you would know, since at that time kpop blew up more than gen 1.. debut age getting younger and younger... and so many companies appeared out of nowhere, tried to put a 12 y.o to promote in music shows. So the broadcasting commitee made that rule. So next time you see a group consist of "toddlers", its still bad.. but at least they're not for the long run (since they cannot promote anywhere beside youtube)

It's better to debut faster than suffer as trainee without any confirmation of debuting. Why kid can sing on American got talent or British got talent but when it comes to kpop idol they suddenly treat as "young". And Korea of course has rules for underrage like they can't do show after 10 pm, they can't do commercial endorsing harmful thing for underrage, company can't force them to portray inappropriate image. At least they should be treating well after debut than during their trainee days.

You all am i the only one who don't find it weird that people at young age getting famous.... I mean i don't find any problem with that , they know what they are doing they choose this life for themselves otherwise why would they even give audition in the first place, some people like to be in spotlight , some even enjoy fame and attention not everyone think exactly the same so i always think it's not only companies fault that young kids see getting debut they can't just debut them without their consent....and people who sexualised the idols are the one who has wicked mind it's doesn't matter that weather they sexualised young celebrities or old celebrities it's bad anyways and why would orher sacrifice their dream because of these people.....
