A importância de sermos nós próprios | Ana Basílio | TEDxULisboa
"I don't like boys, I like girls", Ana told her parents last Christmas. In a personal talk, Ana shares how hiding her sexual orientation created a spiral of fears and insecurities that haunted her throughout her childhood -- and shows the importance of getting out of the closet, whatever the reason keeping us in, and embracing our own self. Ana Basílio is a political science student at Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP), from Universidade de Lisboa. Vice-president of her faculty's political science students organisation, she is a human rights activist, a passion that is growing stronger every day. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
