The ref did check the VAR, and it was the longest VAR check in the tournament but if Spain's fans want to cry foul play then they need to remember that Spain had benefited a lot from foul plays in the previous cup 2018 against both Iran and Morocco in the group stage. And for both Germany and Spain to cry foul play, I just would like to point out that for the 2 favourites of the group (and the tournament) to leave it hanging on the thread till their last games to advance to the next round, they simply got what they deserved; think about it 2 of the top 4 leagues, teams, and players in Europe and the world and they struggle to secure a spot in the group let alone in the next round, that is pretty much on them and no VAR in the world is gonna help or stop that.
