I feel like the dad killed the mom and sister, then the son killed the father. That's why he says 'rest in hell father.' And in another ending he apologizes to his mom and sister before dying. In the scissor ending, he killed everyone and it says he did it. It could be an expression of his guilt from murdering someone just like his dad did.

This is also my thought. Sure, your character could have killed their whole family... but why? I suppose one doesn't need a reason to be a psychopath, but I think it makes more sense if the dad was the murderer and your character killed him. But as for the scissors ending, it's also possible that your character just got angry/jealous, because everyone kept mentioning mom and daughter.

There’s quite a few languages where you can use *all* adjectives as a second person form of address without it being too awkward, so I’m assuming the developer might have even machine translated some dialogue from one of those (for example, you can say “Hey, stupid” in English but “Hey, smart” doesn’t sound quite right)

Personally, I think of it as the father killing the mother and sister, and the son (player) killed the father for what he did, thus the love shown toward the mom and sister and the hate for the dad. I think the son feels like he became a murderer just like his dad, shown in the guilt and violent visions, and why he also turned himself in.

What do you mean "Things get weird?" That's a perfectly normal experience on public transportation here in the US.
The duck might seem unfitting for this game, but it was most likely put in here to lighten things up a bit If not for the duck, this game would be nothing but misery So let's praise the duck: The true hero of this story!

And the duck is the key to the best and the worst ending of this game.
I thought the dad the player talked to wasnt THEIR dad but just a stranger. The other passengers mention having a mom and a sister/daughter to emphasize the player's guilt over killing their own mother and sister, and the newspaper story was about them. Thats how i interpreted tho, im still confused about the player's father
@Rogeryoo

Like I read from someone else's comment, the father could have killed the kid's sister and mother, then the kid killed his father. This way he mourns his mother and sister, while saying his father should burn in hell. @aquablast3155
Жыл бұрын
I'm not too sure about this interpretation. Your character has a vendetta against the father in ending 3/5 (the flower ending), "May your soul rest in hell, father". I think it makes more sense if your father killed his whole family, and then your character killed him. "Rest in hell" implies that the father is dead, and murdering him would also give your character a reason to turn themselves in. I think the "dad" on the bus might just be a stranger. Literally all the bus passengers mentioned their wife and daughter, and I think that's the real reason why your character has the option of taking the scissor and killing everyone-- out of anger and jealousy. (The bus driver even called it a "fun story".)
Wow the dialogue from the lighter guy is actually really good. Nice variety of endings too.
That ending was surprisingly nuanced
The developer almost certainly speaks Spanish, "Joven" (young person) is a normal way to refer to random people.

might be polish too. polish for a young person is "młody". also, the bus stop sign at 14:09 is a polish sign funnily enough, so it might be that the developer is polish. im not certain tho. love from poland, iberian strangers!

_Surprising ride_ I enjoyed the little oddness of the writing. Maybe calling the protag "young" was a way of saying young one - young adult or even early teen - which would explain why people seemed to not be angered or afraid of the protag. Otherwise this game reminded me of a quote from an old novel: "It is curious to look back and realize upon what trivial and apparently coincidental circumstances great events frequently turn as easily and naturally as a door on its hinges". And that quote explains the dancing duck, the ginger cookies, the flower, the rope, and all the rest. I really enjoyed this. It was different.
That first dude: been on this bus for half the day. Also the first dude: here's a coffee I bought before I got on the bus. 💀
"--game where you take a public bus." My anxiety: Ah, a horror game.
The comedic elements were fine though the game's strength is piecing together what happened across the endings. I'd like to see the translation cleaned up a bit but it wasn't ever bad.
I really enjoyed this game. Surprisingly teared up during Lighter Man's speech. Even if the translation could be polished a bit, this dev obviously has a grasp on what makes for interesting stories. If this is one of their first games, I hope they continue creating more.
Quick look at the page had me discover that the dev is Vietnamese. A common non-U way to refer to someone who seems younger than you (kind of like "young man/woman") is "em" in vietnamese, which is literally translated to English is "young" or "junior". This is why everyone refers to the protagonist as "young" - it's a translation error.

Ooh that's really neat. A few other comments were saying it might've been one of the Romance languages but I thought the scope could definitely have been broader than that. Super interesting that it's Vietnamese

I really liked watching you play this little game. I love its crazy logic and its duck. It also have depressing story. And was told in a interesting way.
I think the developer is Vietnamese, they were replying to a Vietnamese comment on their webpage. In Vietnamese you address someone by an honorific such as Ông (grandfather) and Bà (grandmother), "con" means child/junior and is used to address someone much younger than you.

I feel as if the son had something to do with the killing of that family in the newspaper. The sleeping guy is the husband of the wife and father of the daughter who died. And a part of me thinks that the player is the murder that killed both of them. Basically because his father killed his wife and daughter it left an impact on him and so he ended up killing the members of another family (aka the one in the newspaper). It would make sense because in the ending where he killed everyone, all of their eyes were gouged out, just like the wife and daughter in the paper. And after he met the husband/father of the two and he gave him that speech, it touched him enough to admit and turn himself in for the killing of the wife and daughter.
12:00 I wasn't expecting such a touching moment all of a sudden, it was nice
"Riding on a bus. Sitting next to bums. There's an open seat. Hope that isn't pee."
*That's just every bus ever Manly Kun.*
This isn't a game? This is live footage from a New York bus.
There are a few horror elements here; not to be noticed by the unfamiliar. 1. This bus is heading north on the I-5; based on the newspaper bought at the start location of Union station and that the man managed to be asleep/sick for many hours. By this point, based on the trees outside the bus, they are in northern kalifornia. The creature from Union station will return. 2. There is a secret about public buses: that you can change seats; so there is no reason to sit right behind or in front of someone else unless you are a psychopath. 3. Young means your character is young. I am glad, also, that you posted this at a reasonable hour, thank you. I would have missed it otherwise. The creature from Union station will return.
