I personally don't really consider Thrust inline with the othe heralds since they were never given any powers or modification by Unicron. Not to mention Unicron himself pretty much discards Thrust completely after he served his purpose.

I am always dissapointed that most of those chracters don't get to have a unicron insignia, unicron needs to invest in some stickers

I think personally best of the Unicrons herald has been Sideways. He did his job PERFECTLY, sabotaging both sides to keep war going on. Wish we'd get Thunderwing and Sideways again soon... It's shame how they butchered him in movie. Edit: In Prime, one herald would been in games Thunderwing, where he was gigantic. Also alternate timeline BlackArachnid. One more I can think of would be Tarantulas; He is often referred as "Spawn of Unicron".

I think the unicron possessed hot rod was more of an excuse to do a shattered glass. Tribute.

The thing about Beast Wars II Galvatron being a vessel for Unicron is a myth. In actuality, Unicron merely based his new form off of Galvatron as a way to trick Magmatron into thinking his plan to resurrect Galvatron using Angolmois Energy had worked, and then he revealed the truth and all hell broke loose.

I didn't know about the Galaxy Force "Planet X is Unicron and the Transformers that lived there were part of him" thing but you mentioning that makes me think it's a pretty cool thing that there was actually a version of Unicron that was a mirror of Primus being Cybertron and producing the Transformers themselves.

Unicron will continue to get new heralds/minions into the future. Didn't know Botcon Windrazor was a Unicron herald.

One thing that’s bugged me is that Primus has never had a proper counterpart to Unicron’s heralds and/or minions. Sure, there’s the eleven of the Thirteen who didn’t go bad, but I’m talking about specific bots who answer to him directly and carry out his will for his children. The only question is: WHO would be these “Knights of Primus”? Alpha Trion is an easy choice for the group’s leader. He’s been around since the creation of Cybertron itself, he’s a renaissance mech, and he’s always, ALWAYS been tied to more spiritual matters. He embodies Primus’s creativity. I picture this version of Trion as his Titans Return toy- just gives me that “ethereal sage from an era long gone” vibe the Vector Prime and Scourge retools just don’t give. Crosswise (based on his Cybertron iteration) is the team’s number two, the Jazz to Trion’s Optimus. He lives life entirely by faith, not doing anything unless he hears a word from Primus. He embodies Primus’s justice, carrying it out against the occult and cruelest members of the Decepticons. Toy-wise, he’d be Legacy Knock Out with 86 Jazz’s head. Windblade draws from her RID 2015 incarnation in that she was an ordinary mech chosen and supercharged by the Lord of Light himself. She’s still a Camien ingenue at odds with the jaded world around her- heartbroken by how dark Cybertron has become, but dang it she’s going to fight until it’s made something better. She embodies Primus’s wisdom. Probably just her TR toy. Blacker, Laster and Braver are linked at the very spark; one of them never acts without the other two. They embody Primus’s longing for his children to cease their war- until all are one, if you will. They can combine into the mighty Motorvator. No one knows where the Solarbot came from, but what they do know is that he cannot be touched without risking being melted down into your base materials. It’s speculated that he embodies Primus’s holiness, the great chasm between him and his wayward creations. Just picture Legacy/Evolution Eject/Rewind in clear yellow plastic. Quickswitch is a surly cowboy with a hair-trigger temper and deep-seated father issues related to his Decepticon genetic basis Sixshot. He embodies Primus’s gift of change that he bestowed upon the Transformers as a race, what with his many alternate modes. I tried to make the Knights mostly red/yellow/black in order to mirror the tendency of Unicron’s heralds to be purple/gray/blue. It ain’t perfect (Trion has a lot of purple on him), but still. Feel free to borrow this idea for your personal canon!

Big Bang or Hyperdrive could be a member as a Supreme Autobot Commander gifted with the power to bestow Burning Justice and other beneficial abilities to all those who needs them most. Even to Decepticons if their sense of justice and other heroic nonsense is strong enough to be worthy of his charge. Gilthor could be a newcomer to the team. A Cybertronian created by the Quintessons as a lifeless weapon for the Decepticon that’s a theoretical fusion of Optimus Prime and Megatron. A shell that found his sentience and wanting to find his purpose. Seeing as Nemesis Prime is the de-facto Evil Optimus Prime for Unicron and the Autobots already has a Optimus Prime lookalike in Ginrai, why not give Gilthor a new role as a Knight of Primus as a example of how a Child of Primus is not defined by who they’re built by but by how much they consider themselves as one?

Same goes for Big Bang/Hyperdrive being able to bestow burning justice, but I'd have used that "Fire Rodimus" design as a new character (Excellion Major?) as the source of burning justice just to keep the red/black/yellow across the Knights consistent.

I known a lot of us have a bitter taste when Energon gets brought up, but Energon Omega Supreme seems like he would count. He was literally made by Primus to help fight Unicron.

Um… Hook, Line and Sinker technically did get toys - as Astrohook, Astroline and Astrosinker. They were repaints of the Giant Planet Minicon Team that came with Timelines Astrotrain

Dreamwave Armada Bludgeon was awesome. Never said a word, mowed down autobots.

My take on Unicron would have given him the ability to visit other timelines, but only as the TF CYBERTRON tank version, operating as his own super herald across all of time and space.

16:30 I made a post on TFW2005 in the headcannon thread about how the Terrorcons were like Hook, line and sinker where I put: Hook - Scourge Line - Nightbird Sinker - Battletrap And I was wondering if that's what you were referring to.

Angolmois energy is basically Dark energon. It's probably the inspiration for Dark energon and later stories retcon it so that they are the same thing under different names. Because humanity didn't knew that they were juicing their stuff with demon blood.

Earth got splattered with Unicron blood somehow which led to multiple robot zombie apocalypses and later humanity was forced to abandon Earth which became Gaia and is the reason why the Maximal elders quarantined the entire sector. Leading to Cryotek's heist of the golden disk. Which Megatron hijacked and left him to take the fall.

This served as good list of those poor sparks that have served Unicron.

I recall that back when Sideways was a dimension-hopping character (which I have heard is actually still the case, apparently he's not been retconned) he made the claim that he was Tarantulas during Ask Vector Prime. If he was (and if he still is) then I can imagine Earth Spark Tarantulas being a repentant Sideways trying to leave the Unicronian way of life. Probably not the intention, but I like it. That's my headcanon.

@@R0-83-RT Sideways is always inconsistent in personality. From “moody ninja” in Armada to “joking goofball” in Cybertron to “loyal decepticon ” in Revenge of the Fallen…’s comic and games. Also as Earthspark Tarantulas, the change in personality could easily be because of age and experience

@@epicbanana3669 To be fair none of those incarnations were originally meant to be the same character, with Armada Sideways being called Doubleface in Japan, & Cybertron Sideways being called Noisemaze.

Battletrap is a really good toy. Scourge is decent, the Sweeps are nice pocket toys. Nightbird is the most frustrating to transform.

I've only heard it pronounced "ang-ol-mwah".

As the heralds are his employees, I wonder what benefits Unicron offers? Dental plan, gym membership and a shares scheme?

There’s also the Transformers Prime heralds of Unicron who appeared in the sequel fan film to Transformers Prime, Galvatron’s Revenge. They were created to rival the 13 primes and consisted of Galvatron, Slipstream, Scourge and Cyclonus.

Awesome video as always, and I even learned about a few I hadn't known before. Just for the fun of it I just wanted to list some additional hearalds or servants of Unicron not mentioned in the video, just for fun. Tarantulas: it probably wasn't an intentional in the original cartoon, but it oddly does sort of line up with the character's design being purple and yellow, and Tarantulas' spider legs sort of resemble Unicron's ring wings. It's a fun theory to think about and is pretty much a thing in the 3H comics. (Shattered Glass) Knights of Unicron: A bit of a different twist of the whole idea with Unicron being good in shattered glass converting evil autobots into benevolent servants of Unicron. Sound Blaster/Logos Prime: What I especially find interesting about this one is Logos essentially was one of the 13 before we got a fully fleshed out roster of the 13 original primes. Their powers also very much feel other worldly. It also follows the trend of Unicron's minions being black repaints.

The thing with Dirge in Dreamwave Worlds Collide is allegedly because Simon Furman, who wrote the arc, wanted to use the Coneheads in Beast Wars but was unable to due to budget constraints. Also, I always forget Scourge was in that arc.

You know who I wish got more love in this franchise? Thunderwing!

It may have been originally intended as an insult and later retconed to be more literal but I personally like the idea that Tarantulus and the Tripredacus council were spawns of Unicron. Also you never mentioned the heralds from the OTHER live action movie Unicron was in. Mainly the Infernocons who are actually really well designed and look like Unicron all being given matching horns. I don't usually like movie designs but the Infernocons were actually kinda cool... they really didn't do a whole lot and all got their heads chopped off by Optimus Prime in one single motion. They also need a better toy cause only the Torso of Infernocus got a unique mold that accuratly looks like the movie, the limbs were all straight repaints of the Beast Hunters Terrorcons... which now that I think about it is kinda funny that the new Live Action movie Unicron Herolds are also Terrorcons after the first movie herolds were repaints of a group a characters who were the original G1 Terrorcons

The writers intended for spawn of Unicron to be an insult, not to be taken literally, plus being Unicron's spawn doesn't necessarily make him a herald or even minion. Since he's ambiguous at best I left him off.

@@rayvenkman2087 A planet-eater, or devourer of worlds, with herald is a common trope, of course. I did not think the Unicron version of the trope was fleshed out in the movie but it is interesting to see how different series tried to expand on the lore.

@@MrJamesDuffy I thought of the Demiurge because if you compare the TF mythos to Gnosticism, Unicron is the TF equivalent to the deity. Especially with the Sunbow origin which can be looked at as similar to that of how the Demiurge was created. Of course I doubt that was the creators’ intention back then but it does make the TF lore more fascinating when you look at it from a Gnostic viewpoint.
