A history of lynching in the United States (1877-1950) that provides the names of Black victims
Ғылым және технология
In commemoration of Juneteenth 2021 (6/19/2021) and the history of racially motivated violence in the United States, we created a video stating the name of Black victims of lynching from 1877 through 1950. For each victim, we provide their name, sex, age, method of lynching, and location. The data were obtained from the CSDE Lynching Database (lynching.csde.washington.edu). They use a definition of “lynching” that was developed by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1940 and is accepted by most scholars today:
* there is evidence that a person was killed
* the killing was illegal
* at least three people were involved in killing the victim
* the killing was justified with reference to tradition, justice, or honor
If you want to see how the video was made, you are invited to watch the companion video at • Juneteenth 2021: Creat...

That tells you something when naming all the KNOWN lynching victims In the country .....takes an hour.
Am surprised they even kept their names recorded. Or even had names. Interesting.

A lot were burnt at the stack too.very sad.
Great vid! We should also do a memorial for the ones who owned the slave ships and Brazillian slave market.
