This is match certainly the first game is how squash should be played no back and forth with the referees, good solid squash played in a competitive spirt with respect to your opponent

Farag is playing just too good. Only Cole can beat him if they meet again. Love Farag, such a great gentleman.

Holy Moley. That was exhibition quality of the highest level. I don't think I can recall being anyone in the top 10 serving out before. Farag had Shorbagy under the pump quite a bit, just wearing him down. A great game plan. Farag calls his shot down in another classy display of sportsmanship.

Wow wow wow these guys are something else. Farag will win this tournament again there is literally nothing he can't retrieve and knows exactly how to beat his opponents.

Farag represents everything that is great about squash. He’s talented and fierce yet he doesn’t try to win at any cost.

Farag has worn out the last three players in the matches I have seen and they were all super fit. Even one game down in this video, he was ahead physically as his movement is so fluid and energy-conserving.

Movement is so nuanced in squash. Fascinating as a combination of speed, power, and balance, but also its connection to movement patterns, technique, vision, tactics, etc. So much more than just running.

Amazing that El Shorbagy can still hang in these brutal multi-minute rallies. Though as shown here to some extent he can't. But he still musters it more often than you'd guess at this stage of a career!

Wonderful to watch two great players fight it out. Farag is just unplayable at times. I wish Asal would look to him as a role model...

What a joy to watch. Incredible squash combined with mutual respect and good-naturedness. Contrast this with Asal v Elias, or any of Asal's games. The only time it's remotely enjoyable to watch Asal is when he is far ahead and doesn't have to resort to his dirty tactics, and just focusses on the squash. Anyway, these two are the greatest of all time imho, and I hope squash newbies stumble across this game as an example of what this sport has to offer!

Farag used his powerplay in the 3rd game at 7-3 points as he had seen in the previous point that Elshorbagy was tired at that moment. He realised he probably had a good chance of winning his power play at that stage of the game.

Why was the crowd so pro Farag

  • @ZeeShaanJamal

Cuz Shorbagy plays for England now (unfortunate that the crowd sides that way, but we do the same here in Pakistan so I'd be out of my depth if I criticized them here for it) PS: I'm pro Farag as well (but that has nothing to do with his nationality & all to do with his rationality)
