Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another PATREON request with A-ha and their song "Living a Boys Adventure Tale." It's so damn catchy, and the instruments on this track are super clean and 80s dope! Morton gives us more falsetto towards the end. See my react now!

A-ha is the most subtle group there is. Vocally speaking it's sumptuous, the arrangements are magical and the lyrics full of meaning and poetry. They are clearly the most important band in my life and Morten is an angel. Living a boy's adventure tale is such a beautiful and airy piece of bravery. they have touched so much on the sublime in their career and it continues. I can't wait to listen to "True North". Thank you God for giving us this miracle.

I always get angry everytime people think or say A-ha was just a one-hit wonder. No, they can't be resumed to Take On Me, many, many of their songs are amazing like this one. Beautiful vocal performance from Morten. Their first 3 albums are really flawless from top to bottom. Even the songs that weren't singles are great. Pure pop bliss.

@@alexioverdo5225 Since Stay On These Roads, I never had a real big crush on another A-ha album like I had with the first 3 albums. I also liked Minor Earth, Major Sky and Lifelines a lot but on another level, it's just not the same to me. East Of The Sun... is ok I guess (but I like synths not guitars so...), Memorial Beach is nice but not great. But I didn't liked the album Analogue at all. They lost me there. I haven't bought the album Foot Of The Mountain since Analogue disappointed me a lot so I just bought the single of Foot..., it was nice and all (much better than Analogue, yes but still), again, it's not the same "high" I feel when I listen to it, it's really not like Hunting High And Low, Scoundrel Days and Stay On These Roads.

F*k Take on Me. This is the best song from that album, and the album is full of perfect breathtaking pop songs. The bits with the oboe and strings rising and falling give this one a real windswept vibe, like it’s a song meant for a 80s fantasy love story movie. I’ve even seen YT vids in the past of this song put to clips from NeverEnding Story and it fits so well! If this song had a music video it would totally be “lonely hero finds a lost ancient book, falls into its world and goes on a journey in which he falls in love” literally living a boy’s adventure tale.

Truly great song. One of their best. Still, I prefer their 2nd album; "Scoundrel days". Check it out!

I think all songs of the original album are great. I would say from the songs Hunting High and Low is the best, although my favorites are on "Stay on these Roads". BTW, the band is called a-ha because it is the sound you make when you find some interesting (In German as well). I'd love you to react to "Oranges on Appletrees" (London Mix or Original). Also brings a lot of fun vibes. I am gonna send as many of these as I can although this one wasn't my submission :) The only songs I don't like are "Cold River" from East of the Sun, West of the Moon (It sounds so wrong.) and "The Company Man" from Minor Earth, Major Sky (BORING). Even "Cold as Stone" from Memorial Beach is better. Locust is weird, but enjoyable. "I love their 80s stuff" - You hated October xD

This is non-A-ha sound. The vocals A-HA, but the music is very different. It sounds amazing good. In the background the music comes very cool. Greetings from Belgium
