desert camping is the best! We totally recommend going Oct - Mar Just always check the weather reports because it can dip into freezing temps! Happy camping!

Cell coverage near Kelbaker road, but not so much near Kelso dunes or the spot we were in. Recommend GMRS or other comms.

I feel so welcome. I like that tent with the stove. There's probably little danger of CO poisoning due to there being no floor and gaps for air exchange. I guess you didn't see any petroglyphs, or I'm sure you would have videoed them.

Glad you enjoyed the video! The stove made a near freezing outside, a warm comfy 70ish degrees on the inside. Low risk of CO due to the tent being somewhat having air gaps near the floor and roof. No petroglyphs we knew about in this area.

When did you go for freezing temps? Do you know what its like in may?

That was back in Jan 2021. May you should be okay, but might start getting hot

I camp time to time at Kelso dunes , I couldn’t figure out how to go to granite pass.
