A Good Kind of Intense

Meg is in the kitchen today canning up some meat stock, and making canned apple pie filling with the bounty of apples we bought earlier this month. Then, Ben is outside getting our setup ready for butchering meat chickens.

Buggy and Brett put a smile on my face helping you with the apples. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family moments with us. I agree with you about jelly, it's a waste of time, dish soap, shelf space, jars, lids etc to can things your family doesn't eat. @Ben Looks like your new chicken coops are working great, if I may make a suggestion, if you put some poles in the coops for the chickens to roost on they would be a lot happier and healthier. The look a little stressed all crowded up in there.

The mobile. Home needs patio covers to stop that greening. How about simple wood and aluminum lean to on that side. And you could till it for a rain barrel there also. Think of the water you waste this way. And you could use for in and out space. Park, toys, work table for spring lunches and bbq.

When me and my 6 brothers and sisters with my parents would visit my Dad's mom and dad on the farm in spiceland Indiana as a kid ! She had the best granny smith apple tree in her side yard ! Every year she canned spiced apple rings with cloves and cinnamon and they were the first thing I asked for to eat every time we would visit ! My grandpa always had a bag of cinnamon hard candies in his dresser drawer and butter scotch that he would pass out to us kids if we were good ! Watch you can those apples really brought back those memories and my mom drying apple to use in the winter for her homemade butter fried individual apple pies she fixed for us after she soaked them in water and cooked them with spices added them to small crust and fold in half and crimped the edges with a fork and fried in butter ! I suppose you could bakem if ya wanted and butter afterwards though ! Seems like yesterday but that was 60 years ago ! Boy how time flies when your just living ya best life ! Really enjoy seeing you guys progress with yours ! Living and learning is mostly what it is ! God bless y'all !

Love the content. As an owner of a pressure washing business , I would suggest ‘soft washing,’ the vinyl on your home. Assuming the algae build up is on the north side which is recurring , a soft wash solution in a pump up sprayer of 12.5% sodium hypochlorite, diluted 3 parts to 1 would melt it off within minutes , requiring just a rinse of water. 5 minute job. This is assuming there is no implications of runoff or vegetation around the house that would need to be watered down to prevent plant burning

One year I had a whole lot of pumpkins. It just happened when the Mall of America opened I went in a store that was selling small jars for like tourists, and it was pumpkin butter, and I thought oh yes I can make that too. I baked like 15 pumpkins and and cut the outside off of course and cooked the pumpkin down in a huge canner on the stove and used the same recipe as you would use for making apple butter, and it turned out so good. I actually gave a lot of it away to friends and family and they all loved it too. It was much darker than apple butter, but so good. on toast or pancakes too.

Apple jelly is so neutral it can be used as a flavorful base for other jellies like jalapeno jelly (or other hot pepper), mint jelly for lamb (sort of like cranberry sauce for turkey).... cowboy candy, herbed meat jellies, think rosemary, thyme, or sage. Sage is also good in blackberry jelly and my son's favorite iced tea flavoring..... just in case you decide to make it again in the future.

You need to add as catch name sniff here too. Love the farm life style ♥️ You cook the way I do 😄. You don’t go into the step by step which is nice for those of us that’s been cooking for YEARS. Home grown and home made- doesn’t get any better than that 👍. Glad you’re all feeling better. TIS the season. Last week in October my Mom always started the can on the back of the stove of Friars Balsam, none of us kids got sick and somehow over the last 5 years, nobody carries it anymore 😯. So all of us older wives now chop an onion and a couple cloves of garlic setting it up in the higher traffic area and we don’t get sick - I’d rather the friars Balsam LOVE that smell but this concoction works just as good

When I used it to make a pie or whatever. Baking those thin sliced apples again made them mush out like applesauce. This year I'm making it by slicing my apples thicker by hand.

I hope this is another very good way to use your favorite pepper, please let me know if this information has been useful for your family’ god bless you and your wonderful family and thanks for the chanel ,

Pressure washing upwards could send water behind the siding and cause rot or mold. Best to wash downward or at least perpendicular. I don't make jelly because it is mostly jelled flavored water with sugar. I prefer jam instead. However, removing seeds from raspberries to make jam is labor intensive. I pressure cook my roosters. It can turn a five-year-old roo into tender dark meat quickly. Tons of flavor. That way you can drink the wine instead.🙂

Are you still planning on adding a full length covered deck with pantry space to the back of the trailer?

Great Job Brett. My son makes side $$washing houses and windows. Chicken looks great. On a cold day like today that would be a tasty meal

Apple makes a good jelly-extender. If you don't have quite enough of something else to make a full batch, just fill it out with apples. They gel well and don't really add any noticeable flavor. Smuckers used to offer a line of apple-blend jellies I liked. Pears can do the same thing.

When we lived in Florida we had to clean our RV like that. Since we moved to New Mexico haven't had to clean it one time, so nice.
