33:37 when you spend as much time with the animals as the keepers do, it can really be devastating when something like that happens to one of their animals.

Yeah. There's no way to take that kind of loss but hard.
The baby giraffe is so cute. Thanks for any zookeepers🦒❤
I’m so sorry for your loss y’all. Fiona was beautiful and so loved, and she left this earth right by her favorite person. So Deedee you were t lying to Fiona. She is ok now and doesn’t hurt and she was with you, and that’s really all I can imagine she would want. You all are angels. I’m mourning and celebrating with y’all.
poor sheep I almost cried

That was pins and needles for us to watch. I think I know what it was like for you guys to start to stress when the development seemed slower than anticipation. You guys are great;
I really enjoyed this show. So sorry for the loss of the goat. I cried. :( . Glad the Giraffe baby is doing well. I was hoping it was a girl since you already had 6 boys lol.

That was a sheep that passed away.
Is Really Cute Animal Right Now
Cheetahs play more like dogs because they are one of the only true cats without retractable claws. Their feet are more like a dogs.
Thanks

The zoo doesn’t have a choice in the matter. They only go along with the recommendations of the SSPs.

@@mindyspencer7637 Well, with AZA accredited zoos, genetic diversity is more important. In fact, AZA accredited zoos will put their animals on birth control if they’re not recommended to breed.

@@mindyspencer7637 they can do that, or artificially inseminate if needed for some animals, but only if that's what's best for species as a whole. AZA zoos look at the bigger picture when it comes to breeding. If the worst happens and there's only one or two giraffes left in the wild, giraffes in zoos are going to be essential in getting a healthy wild population back again. Zoos are fantastic entertainment for us, but they're also a lifeboat for so many animals.
Big rat we can call it

How is raising cheetah's with dogs for over 10 years helping with conservation of the species? Those animals will never be able to be released in the wild due to them being treated as a domesticated pet. True, it is adorable to see the cheetahs interaction with the pups, but it is concerning that the cheetah will never know what it feels like to be a cheetah.

Normally, zoos won’t raise them with dogs because they would rather have the mom raise them. However, sometimes the moms won’t raise the baby.

I believe it's mainly done to give a suitable playmate or a parental figure (depending on the age of the dog) for cheetah cubs that have to be hand-reared. Dogs can stand cheetahs playful antics and give calming signals to the naturally shy cats; being ineligible for breeding at this point, the cheetah will serve the cause as ambassador animals.

Very late but they do this to give the animal the best life possible in captivity because they *won’t* be released. The point of breeding and raising them in captivity is to have a genetic bank of sorts so that when it is safe to release animals back into the wild, we will have a genetically diverse population to draw from. Big cats are very hard to raise to be released and it makes no sense to raise them to be wild when the wild isn’t viable for them to be released into. Be it due to habitat loss or poaching, it’s not safe for these animals to be released on mass yet. There *are* some facilities that are able to raise big predators like cheetahs to be released but it’s not as common as the ones that raise them for that genetic bank.
Me first minute in: *That's not a giraffe* 🙄🤔
