Definitely impressed to see how much the devs care about the game. Especially noticed that with the weapon stat rerolls being unlocked and rerollable compared to what I'd read on Reddit from June 2023.

​@@TheAniknight the game have changed a lot since those early reddit posts. +5 dupes changed from 3.4x stronger than +0 to less than 2x, and only 0.3x stronger than a +3. Ultra rare gear materials from PvP rankings have been removed and placed in a PvE mode that any f2p can clear and obtain those mats without competing with whales. The devs, in their own words, are making changes to reduce the power gap between users, even at the cost of their revenue. As a f2p I've done 2200 pulls in the 4 months playing this game, the amount of free pulls they give out is ridiculous compared to other games in the market

@@bbseno Honestly hard to find anyone talking about the game outside of the original posts, but am glad to hear it's even better than before for sure. Definitely drowning in free currency and the devs are based.

Started the game 1 week ago and I fell in love with Wiggle. Exspecially his sidequest was a nice one.

Great review. One thing I really like about this game is that the lower rarity characters are actually pretty strong unlike every other gachas.They can even help you push through the harder contents. Personally I would currently give this game a 7/10. But I can definitely see it increasing to 8 or 9 in about ~6 months. The devs have massively improved the gaming experience over the time and they are still listening to the feedbacks. When I first started the game it didn't even had the 100 pull pity system.

It's in a similar spot to games like FGO and Genshin in terms of being able to use 3 and 4 stars to power through the game, and a bit of the 8/10 score is from the Devs being truly based in terms of improvements + the extremely polished art style.

And! If y’all want to start playing this amazing game. I’ll say start now because they’re going to do a 1/2 anniversary celebration(we don’t know what’s in store for us yet but knowing them. It’ll be good!) and about to release a new limited character like last summer. Where we got 300 free pulls!

I have been playing it for a week and like it a lot. I needed a break from HSR and Rewind 1999 because they got stale. It definitely feels like a AAA JRPG and I cant understand why there isn't more buzz about it.

It did have a bit of a rough start seeing that it wasn't very well advertised, plus a few missing functions like not being able to reroll your weapon stats, the previously poor f2p experience with no pity, no free rolls per day, and balancing of dupes, which have since been fixed. Devs have been quietly fixing things in the background and added a ton of things that seem to have streamlined the game a lot, which is extremely based. Definitely agree more people need to know about this game.

​@@TheAniknight I don't know if it's the same publisher, but the original really didn't get much love in terms of advertising either. Brown dust 1 or I guess Brave Nine was/is super niche over here.

@@JP_KI Seemed like Valiant's the main publisher for Brave Nine (both Valiant and Neowiz are listed on Google but Valiant's the only one listed on Steam) while Neowiz seems to have taken the reins solely for Brown Dust 2.

New player here. Been play for 7 days. NGL even after 7 days I could do 200 gacha at Sylvia the Sword Queen and get her to +2, also get her weapon at 40 rolls. Still have tons of resources that I will save to roll for Eclipse the bunny costume later on. Oh and soon half anniversary + maybe Christmas and new year event? but we will see later. I'm sure they will give tons of freebies on top of freebies.

before i found this gem of a game recently, i was with mir4 for about 3 years which i finally thrown the towel. Its just turned out to be a second job already and the dailies keep coming everyday wherein the more u miss events the more u get behind even average spending like 250cad/m. Now in BD2 is more friendly to players who have a full time job and play whenever they can. graphics is 10/10 on its genre, bgm is good enough, storyline is top notch as well and lastly you dont need too much spending on this game 100cad per month worth of in-game package is decent to give u progress in building up characters. im so happy i found this game and im gonna rest with mmorpg for 2024…

The gacha is near perfection and came back after an annoying bug (couldnt skip weapon level up animations) And ive got over 100 pulls in ONE day winning both girls from gacha

It did catch me off-guard for sure, but the gameplay does make up for it. Think the devs might've been worried they'd be outdone by other games, so they cranked it up to try and lure people into the game, which doesn't quite work if they didn't advertise it well enough.

Best game

as someone who loves jrpgs I was really surprised by the art style and the design of the combat. But while the combat system initially seemed appealing to me, I feel like it’s still really lacking compared to a non gacha jrpg. Characters need multiple costumes, which are only one skill, and sometimes dupes on top of them which heavily reduces the effectiveness of “high” rates. I also feel like the action preview that’s shows what your move does is held back by the fact that it’s inconsistent considering a mob unexpectedly dying or surviving can and probably will mess up your attack plans

Gacha's unfortunately going to have the drawbacks of every other gacha game, but it's a definite step up from the usual gacha fare for a free to play title with the generosity of the game for longer-term players. They've actually nerfed dupes a lot according to some players as well, so they're not as busted as they used to be (think it's now only a 2.2x damage boost instead of the 3.4x according to someone here). As for gameplay, it's partly why I feel it's like one of those shift puzzles and tend to call it a puzzle game XD.

I like the pvp fr, it's not like full-auto you need to think strategy for certain lineups for both defense and offense and it's really f2p. I'm in top50 without paying a penny lol

Definitely not denying the PVP is decent, the luck side of things is mainly since you can't really control your units or move them around the board during PVP like you do in PVE, so you still end up relying a bit on luck to hit the right spots.

I will play this game only if this is vertical mode because im slave worker

Graphic: 9/10 Character design: Seggs/10 Story: 10/10 Gacha: 7/10 The resource you get: 8/10 (pretty easy to get them) Farming: 8/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Puzzle: 7/10 100% recommend this game. If not for the gacha then play for the story.

No, game has absolutely zero content after you do the short story. The story can be done in less than 3 hours, and all that's left is just nothingness. There is no content, no game modes, nothing.

That's definitely a fair point which makes sense for the endgame since it's essentially an F2P RPG that's limited by its story at the end of the day. Am curious to know what content you've clocked as 3 hours does seem to be on the short side. To my knowledge, took me about 7 to 8+ hours for me just to finish the first 5 chapters of the main story alone + Jayden's Gate, mostly from me reading the story.

Why does every game have to be spoiled by stupid ecchi scenes and jiggle physics all over the screen..

Sadly, fanservice is a marketing tactic that works in a lot of cases for the cultured. Especially so for more niche titles like Brown Dust who contend with the mainstream gachas and can just be hard to blame the devs for not making use of it to get some well-needed attention sometimes. Definitely share the same sentiments the longer I've consumed anime-related content, because the fanservice, in Brown Dust 2 in particular, works against its high fantasy RPG charm because of how blatant it is at times. Kinda reminds me of a DXD or To Love Ru era anime which the industry has shifted away from in recent times.
