First they'd have to fact check this video. Starting with the fact he didnt post the theses on the door. While it acted as a bulletin board yes it was only an announcement posted of his presentation, of the theses. He also didnt split Catholics and protestants. Henry the 8th did that. Sigh I weep at all the inaccuracies

Well, at least he had done one of the things that were required to finally end Middle Ages in Europe. Put a start to a very important process. English Reformation shortly after was the final coffin to that period. The other side of the coffin however was nailed by italian merchants. If not for him, we'd both be peasants working the land to this day.

Luther happened to live in the age when the printing press was invented. It’s helpful to realize that the vast majority of people were illiterate in medieval times and before. That’s why pictures were painted on the walls of churches and stained glass windows served the same purpose. The only Bible that existed, pre-Heidelberg, was a hand written manuscript that was worth lots of money.

About as educational as anything from PBS or the modern History Channel are, anyways. Grossly oversimplified, egregious errors, and quite a bit of context left on the cutting room floor.

It doesn't really matter what he intended tbh. He had a cause and it made an effect. We can't really determine what he was thinking, though I believe he has said on some occasions that he intended for reform rather than the splitting on the church, so you may be right.

@Knights Templar It's not. Christianity originated in the Middle East, and was brought to Europe. The original Europeans were PAGAN. Hellenists in Greece. Druids in Ireland/England/Gaul. Norse pagans in Scandinavia. Christianity replaced it all by killing or converting them. They cut off the pagan boys long hair, and forced them to attend Christian schools and hate their ancestors traditions.

Just a quick addendum. Vernacular versions of the bible were made throughout the pre-medieval period and medieval period. Luther's German translation was not the first vernacular bible.
It is a myth that Luther nailed his Thesis to any door.

Jabberwocky, tradition and scripture are both valid. Paul said so when he wrote that the people should listen to their (non biblical) oral teachings. See 2 Thesallonions 2:15.
