    Wow! This (possible) employee benefit is phenomenal. I’m old- my wife & I married @ age 19 (not pregnant) & put each other through college & (me) medical school in the mid 1970s. No financial help from parents, no loans. Worked as nurse aides in college. Ate PB&J every hospital shift. If you were caught eating a cup of pudding from the nurses’ station fridge: instant employment termination! The irony was, it was a Catholic hospital run by nuns!

    Largely a challenge of accounting. If declared "income" both the employee and company may owe taxes on the exchange. Might be off to 1099 the workers and have them with a TDY or per diem food and lodging account.
