I watch F1 for about 5 minutes and I'm sleep. I can watch these all day.

I don't care who wins, this is 100% awesome!!!!!! Bring back races like this.

This is way more exciting to watch than F1, Nascar, and Indycar.

Not too many better sounding races than this

Took me back to late 60's, Brands hatch, Frank Gardner in the Mustang being hounded through the corners by the Mini's, then powering away down the straights. Awesome sound.

Great race to watch in person absolutely mind blowing great cars lovely noise and a blistering burble

Kinda strange to see a RHD Boss 302. I assume this is for 1970 and up due to the lack of earlier Mustangs and Camaros? Really enjoyed this. Goodwood Road & Racing always delivers!

There was a RHD 1965 or ‘66 in the all Mustang race too, unless they’re Australian imports I’m not sure why you’d modify a race car to RHD, unless maybe there’s an advantage with using a more modern steering rack.

@garethmcrae668 anything is possible, not many oval circuits left now though. I'd guess any advantage would be outweighed by a corner in the opposite direction but I'm no expert.

@@CycolacFan optimal in an oval but any circuit that is run clockwise means having the driver's weight over on the OS (in my case 100kg) would help in the predominantly RH bends. In BTCC, the old maximum weight ballast penalty was 65kg bolted to the passenger footwell- enough to make the difference.

We had trans am racing in the U S. We don't have touring car racing, but I cool, we should have. But for a car to enter an official trans am race it has to be a 2 door trans am style production car like a Camaro or a Mustang, I could be a Pontiac grad prix, so by the early 70's the was race inspired Camaros and Mustangs, they're race approved before the ever hit the streets

Love to have seen Peter Brock take these guys on with an A9X

Nah, that's just silly. Look at the tyre size of the cars on track. The A9X Toranas Brock drove were Group C - a totally different formula to this race.

NASCAR back in the 1970s was pretty exciting too, and they were racing "real" cars, not the "cookie cutter" cars they race now. Back then if you saw a car with Ford or Chevy livery you knew it was a real Ford or Chevy that'd started out as a real production car.

Refuses to pronounce _Camaro_ properly too. I ALWAYS wear earplugs at Goodwood because you can't escape those tinny trumpet speakers with the endless prattle!

I was curious to know how he came in late but left pits earlier than competition? Thought they had a mandated stop time? Or were competitors just too slow on driver change? Awesome race anyway.

What are the Capris ? 2.8 injected or 3.0 Carburetors ? or something else ? lol

They are all 3.0 Essex V6 with carburetor,tuned engines to Group 1 rules producing around 270-290 Bhp.

Umm St Mary's is a bit after Fordwater, it's the twisting double dive before the Lavant corner - which is after no-name or has the circuit somehow changed? Only been 12 times but hey ho :)

In the States, we solved that problem by calling them Turn 1, Turn 2 etc.
