This was love at first sniff for me when it came out in 2006. I have always and will always have a bottle in my collection. I've also got the extreme in the gold bottle and love it all the same. The depth and complexity of the many, many notes make it a masterpiece alone.

I love Black Orchid, it’s so multi-faceted and beautiful on my skin. I have the same 30ml bottle and it’s so cute!! From TF I also ADORE Rose Prick, and Noir de Noir is beautiful, though I have only smelled it on paper. I do own the Noir de Noir inspiration, “Club de Nuit Intense Woman,” which is maybe a sister of NdN in terms of similarity. The gothic rose in CDNIW is 🔥 🔥 🔥

People will recoil in horror!😂 I just love your sense of humour! I’ve only tried Black Orchid once at the airport. I remember really liking it. I love strong patchouli scents. Oh, yes… I like an overwhelming scent too. I need to give this one another try.

I loved Tom Ford's original Cafe Rose. Thought it was endlessly fascinating. The new version at first I thought was the same but after some time it seems to be a little more basic. Also love Rose D'amalfi very much. Some say it's too powdery but to me it's super beautiful.

To me the scent wasn't overwhelming. I used to drink it in for hours. It was immortal on me and, like I said, it filled the house and also cut through the weather. I do love it! I can't wear it though. It has a note of chocolate as well. Where I would wear it? LOL At home I am thinking of getting a travel spray.

Hi Gabby, started watching your channel last week, and immediately subscribed! I had samples of black orchid and velvet orchid over a year ago. Black Orchid was too much for me at the start of my perfume collecting, but I sprayed it on a cotton ball and left it in the main bathroom which I don’t use very often. Every time I opened the door, the scent was strong for over a week. Loved it like that, but not on me. Bought Velvet Orchid though. Love your content and style. 😃🇦🇺

Loving all the content you’re putting out for us Gabi! I’ve never owned a full bottle of Black Orchid, only decants. When I spray this one, I feel that I don’t wear it, but rather it wears me. And I’m not a wallflower! 😆 I love a good cacophony of notes, as in Interlude from Amouage, but this one pulls much too masculine on my skin, or at least I perceive it that way. I love White Suede from TF and have repurchased a large bottle it twice. It works wonderfully in spring through early autumn. It’s light and airy and should always be sprayed with gay abandon.

Yes! A masterpiece indeed! I love Black Orchid! So dark and mysterious!That's the only Tom Ford I own.When it first came out,I was hooked on it for some time- taking a little break from Angel..😁 What you said about fragrances get you through the day,I totally feel you..Fragrances get me through the day and night as well. Hi Gabi! Black Orchid is a staple in my collection!! I have both edt and edp, and the edp is my favorite. I bought the edt, by mistake, it is still nice, but the edp, is sexy!!! The first time I smelled this,it was on a man,and I had to know what he was wearing. 🖤💜

Love Black Orchid 🖤 It’s so intriguing to me. I have a dupe for it, but it’s pretty damn close to the original, and I usually spray it at home to just enjoy it by myself, I’ll actually go and spray it on as soon as I’ve finished this comment ☺️ I also love Velvet Orchid and I have the real one. It’s sweeter and (I guess) a bit more easily worn. So true, perfume gets me through the day! When I need a little “pick me up” I smell my perfume on my wrist or scarf, or if I’m at home I go through my collection and sniff “this and that”. I don’t know about aroma therapy, but it certainly helps me to smell something lovely 🥰

Fragrances do get us through the day! Black Orchid does have an “underworld” feeling! I love it out of the bottle, hate it on my skin. Velvet Orchid was a signature of mine, for a brief time, when I was taking a break from Angel. It is a hell of a showstopper fragrance. Someone told me I smelled mysterious when wearing it.

Your nails are giving me Drusilla vibes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She was a favourite gothic vampire villain on the show, and I have a feeling she would rock Black Orchid. Smelled it a few years ago and wasn’t sure what I was smelling and was put off. My tastes have changed so I may go check this out again. My favourite TF fragrance is Jasmin Rouge, which I own a dupe of.

LOL I said Black Orchid to my husband a dozen times while you were gearing up to telling us what the scent was. I love Black Orchid from first sniff, but I always knew it wasn't for my kinds of.... activities..... so I got a bottle and wore it around the house. One half spray filled the house and I smelled like it until I showered.

I have Tom Ford’s Santal Blush and White Suede and I like them both. I don’t wear them that often, but videos like this give me a renewed appreciation of them and remind me to start pulling for them more. While they are quite different, I wouldn’t necessarily describe either one as a femme fatale fragrance. That said, Santal Blush is still quite sultry and mysterious in a Bohemian Beauty sort of way. It’s a woody-amber with spicy, creamy and powdery tones, quite complex with a ton of spicy, woody, resinous and floral notes. White Suede (which is the softer of the two) also has a Boho vibe- but with a relaxed, California Chic feel about it. It’s a musky, woody, floral perfume with powdery and leather accords. Both are totally unisex scents. I’m not much into layering my fragrances, but these two are an exception- They blend together beautifully, as they share several notes e.g., sandalwood, saffron, musk, and rose, so sometimes I like layering them. But they are striking worn alone or together. I love your videos Gabi. Love white suede, have 2 bottles of it (50ml and 100ml).For me it’s very comfortable, elegant but not simple everyday perfume. Very closer to Noa from cacharel but with leathery notes. Love them both.

It definitely is unique. I might eventually grow into loving Black Orchid.

I guessed it :) This is a femme fatale for sure, as dark as it gets. Black Orchid achieve what other "dark" designer scents tries to be, really dark and dramatic. I love this unique scent, I have also tried dupes, but I think it has to be the OG! I would like to try plum japonaise, and noir the noir.

I love love love it!!! And everything Tom Ford made for his brand before he gone away. Tobacco vanille, vanille fatal, patchouli absolu, black orchid, Sahara noir, white patchouli, noir de noir, noir pour femme, violet blond, white suede. Amazing perfumes, brilliant compared about modern cherry’s, peaches, roses and so on.

I like Velvet Orchid. I also like Salt by Ellis Brooklyn which many compare to Black Orchid. I don’t own black orchid but I think once I smelt and liked it and another time I hated it. I think it depends on my mood lol.

@@thefragrantician I'm a stroke survivor and when I went to put some scent on a few weeks ago I couldn't find it. I thought, cat? But I actually found EIGHT were missing plus a couple of body sprays. I can only think one of my caregivers, I've had many. So sad.

This smells nice on other people but not fit for me 😊
