At 19 years old, David Letele was the Auckland Mongrel Mob President. When he was sentenced to a decade in jail he wanted out of the criminal and gang world. His past has taken a toll on his whānau. This is a story about transformation

this is powerful, Only real men cry.. Dave Letele is a fighter in and out of the ring, a true warrior.. huge respect for the dad on leaving the mob, not many have the balls to get out.. much love to both.

The story is so common in NZ this is the beginning of us breaking the cycle & putting our family first

Strong!!! Thank you for this post...
Crying😔😔 beautiful to talk about it,much love♥️
As kids we aren't responsible for our environment at home or school. We don't get to pick n choose whether our parents were taught how to be compassionate and supportive. Our ancestors have often been raised surviving just day by day. It's time like you say that we break the cycle. No matter how hard it is we need to be responsible parents first. And when we make mistakes we admit to our children, and we teach them that failure is part of life and life ain't always easy! We just need to show them hey look I didn't get it right the first time but we can choose to learn from this and grow and evolve. Nga Mihi 🙌
Wowsers, never knew this was Buttabeans father....even while staring at the shirt David Snr. was wearing in this segment lol. Buttabeanz tears are def real and its trippy because most Poly males find it hard....to be soft when person to person. - if that makes any sense lol Salute on a great clip
Extraordinary short film. Well done all round XX
His old man true O.G, wisen up also... damn!
It’s human to have emotions, absolutely nothing wrong with it. Cmon dads show your boys that your allowed to cry and not to bottle things up.
Orsum korero from u both, thank u for being vulnerable and sharing yr lives with us, especially the personal and private parts that still had raw emotion going on, arohanui ki a korua me to whanau katoa 💞💖❤

He didn't say sorry! That's what he was waiting for!. Kia kaha.
haha good stuff not easy for them to show how they feel but like they say they are getting better at it 👍
David you need to reassess your foundation, my nephews friend I recently met was gang beaten by a well known gang in your facility and has spent two weeks in middlemore hospital and is terrified to go back so he has cut his bracelet and on the run… wth.. he’s got a heart of gold and made a few mistakes and doesn’t want to go to jail either as he’s scared for his like to go back to your facility or jail because he said no he didn’t want to do there dirty work while in your facility.. maybe look into that.. that aside I’ve heard great reports about your facility so quite surprised to hear this story.. as rehabilitation available for anyone is definitely a positive him used to go forward.. but rehabilitation to prevent going to jail and just being there to avoid incarceration is wrong and needs to me monitored closely 😊😊
Both of them are fkn articulate as, doesnt surprise me that the Dad was a gang leader, you can tell he is a smart cookie
Dave had his fun times........
💯💙

Sometimes Respect gets you STAB, SHOT, or SHOT AT, USED, So Fearless no for me is measuring Friendship above Brotherhood Im Ex Pres Taranaki I face my fears by myself up against Town and Jail, I done the same as David I went back to Aucks to face 3 Top Leaders and said Im out they knew my reasons...I was the only one in B Block that kept my word out of 8 of us and we decide then that no more Mongrel Mob will never be base in the Naki again enter at your own risk as for me I had to learn to forgive to move on in life with my whanau and Mokos, yes ive get that urge to help out, then i get feeling you Trust(you are going to get burnt, ..?)so Dave Kia Kaha you are God Souljah now like so many Ex OG"s "
