I have used Miss Cindy's Ham recipe for the last 3 hams I have baked, and they were perfect doing it the way she did hers. What stands out to me is that she kept everything simple and following her suggestions has been a winner for me. I so appreciate her contributions to your channel. I pray sweet memories of your years with her will be a comfort to each of you over the holidays.

Moving is not for me. I’ve done it many times growing up and in my adult life. My husband is a Pastor and we live next to our church. We’ve been blessed to be here his entire ministry of 18 years now. We’re almost 60 years old and I know we’ll not be here forever. It’s so sweet that you’re next to your home place. May the Lord bless y’all with many more years there! 😀❤️

I'm sorry you're having drought. Your woods are so beautiful. I was watching you walk down the path, and I noticed that Matt adjusted his gait to yours Tipper. He probably does it automatically but it's very gentlemanly. You know how much I love these popsicle talks. I remember Parker House rolls as the actual Parker House is in my home city of Boston. But I bet your rolls are better. I have a bad hip so it's hard for me to walk outside, but I love it. Lots of love to you Tipper and your whole family. Granny continues to be in my heart.

We had pecan trees on the farm that I grew up on in Mississippi. I agree with Matt, fresh pecans are delicious. I remember helping my grandfather shell and pick the meat out of pecans for my grandmother and mom to bake pecan pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas. When my mom was growing up, an apple, orange, banana, and a handful of nuts was what she would have in her stocking on Christmas morning. My mom did the same for my brother and I. I continued the tradition with my children. I would then tell my children how thankful my mom was to have had those things on Christmas. Tradition and family are important. Faith, family, and friends in that order.

I live on the same place my grandpa bought in the 50’s. Our neighbors had a bigger tract of land that had a pasture and creek on it. We grew up playing in the creek and pasture. A few years ago the neighbor property sold so we lost access to the creek and the pasture. I can still walk out on my porch and see the pasture but the creek is out of view. Oh how I miss those days of playing and hanging out at the creek. So many memories on that property. Really miss it.

My hometown Sioux Falls (SD), and the (eponymous) falls there give me that feeling of 'home'. Old pictures exist of those falls, Victorian ladies/gentlemen standing amidst those ancient formations. One can look at such old images on a cell phone! and glance up to find the precise spot! Y'all know that deep, rich, bittersweet mixture of feeling. Reminds us that we are mortal and this life goes quickly! Thank you Tipper and Matt! 🙌🏼 💞

Your talking about pecan trees makes me think of , my now thirty year old, when he was 4 or 5. We were at his Grandma's house under a huge pecan tree helping her gather and shell them. She was steady filling a jar and just never seemed to get it full. I noticed why. Her grandson was sneaking under her chair and eating them from the jar faster than we could fill it. 😂🥰

So good that Matt can now hunt more. Even though he doesn't have his 40 hr work, there's a lot of other work to do but now he can do it during the day instead of evenings & weekends. When he sits & has a popsicle in these videos is probably the longest I imagine he sits down, as he probably likes to keep busy 😃 Good also that Austin can get enough time to go hunting. I hope you get more rain as fall rain is beneficial to spring growth. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Haha. I get a kick out of you two. The twins are definitely reflections of you. Strong family traits. Sending love and prayers to you all! I just can’t believe how beautiful it is there! Thanks for an inspiring video.

I believe if I could live near the ocean, I would develop a sense of place. I like my home and I love being near my family, but I don’t have a special connection to the place where I live. I could sell my house tomorrow and be fine with it. We’ve lived in this house for 20 years, but I’m always ready to move.

I’m not sure where home is for me. I grew up in a rural area where I thought would always be my home. Then, I married and we moved to a city’s suburb for work for 31 years and raised our children there. We thought that would be home. Then, one of our son’s moved away with the grandkids for work. I retired and we moved to back to a different rural area. I love being close to my grandkids, but I also miss my other son and our former friends. Therefore, I’m not sure what I would call home especially since my parental family all lived within a few miles of each other. You are definitely blessed to have all your family so close.

I watched this video yesterday and I commented but I must have forgot to tap the send button , lol. I could just smell the leaf and creek smells, mingled together. That is one of my favorite smells. My take from the comments is you have a bunch of new viewers.😃. TeresaSue

Sense of home is something I’ve missed for many, many years. Everyone has passed on now and it’s only me. I’m ready to be with their spirits. Take care❤

We had a real gully washer yesterday and it was supposed to get real cold. I would love to take another walk in the woods to see all that God has given us to admire.

I love NC and Appalachia. So pretty there. We’ve fly fished near Cherokee and loved it there. I’m wondering if you would be able to do some videos where you visit different parts of the state and interview locals who can tell about their lives and history in their area? I had a distant relative who was part Cherokee who came with her husband to live in Ohio. I don’t know much more about them. I’m always interested in the stories behind the faces. I’m sure there are many interesting characters who might tell you their life stories. Thanks for your videos. We truly enjoy them. 🙏🏻💕

Five generations of my family lived on allotments given to Native Americans in eastern Oklahoma because of the forced removal from Georgia. Before the removal my family was in North Carolina and later migrated to Georgia, where they were when they were forced to leave their homes. My parents were the last to own the allotted land and when my dad passed away my mom wanted to move to town so she sold the land. My siblings and I feel a strong pull to go back there but it no longer belongs to us. We do, however, still live in eastern Oklahoma.

Home is where the heart is. Just dig in and stay where you are. People will catch up one day, enjoy it while you can.
