This was such a satisfying, mature drama. It has elegance with mature dialogues that is fitting and meaningful. You cannot ask for more with such a good ending delivered. Applause to the director, production and cast. The acting, film sets, cinematography, OST are almost perfect for me. The two main leads have this intense 🔥🔥🔥 chemistry that I felt from the very beginning. For most of the drama, I love that they communicate so well with each other. It was only from E27 to E35 that I dislike the directing because they had to create some sort of drama/miscommunication for our main leads. Their miscommunication towards each other could’ve been better. Despite that, this has a HAPPY ENDING so I highly recommend this drama. It’s still one of my favorite dramas of 2022 with my favorite couple of the year. 😍

Lol that money being kept there and ZD not noticing it was worst cliche they have used. C'mon ZD knows to read and write and then how she won't notice it. Even illiterate knows money or bank check and she works in hotel business so it would be more common for her to see it.

Yes indeed. I was quite new to the Chinese DramaLand nd didn't know the ML & FL before (never watched them before). I was just going to give it a trial and unexpectedly got so addicted, Undoubtedly it's the best (if not one of the best drama series in 2022), I enjoyed so much of the tremendous on-screen chemistry between the ML & FL and also the great acting skills of the supporting casts; the beautiful cinematography. They're just like arts and paintings, especially the beautiful scenes along the waterfront provinces. Of course it's not flawless but overall, it gave me the pure and joyful entertainment that I wanted and I am well pleased.... Thumbs up!

@@MK916Editz For me, it's only about 2 years into the Chinese drama series. I liked a few of the other series but never this addictive to this particular one. I guessed the director and the script writer were both women had something to do with writing it to cater to most female audiences (but I read that it attracted a lot of the male audiences too). I guess it's true that women = water. lol. Looked at the beautiful cinematography. Imagine a waterfront residence, how much would it cost nowadays even to own the smallest one, lol Of course there would still be a lot of people who were not totally convinced that it's a topnotch drama series and kept nit picking but I don't care about all others, I myself enjoyed it, that's all it counts. Thanks for your beautiful piece.

The chemistry between them is phenomenal. This is my most fav historical drama of 2022.

I love this series. It’s not perfect but the strong chemistry of Liu Yifei and Chen Xiao is unbelievable! Watching them, you will feel the sexual tension and also their joys and pain even without saying a word. Both are brilliant actors. Hope they can still work together in the future.

Same here hoping to see them together on another drama.

There are moments where they exaggerated some action but most of the time, they look so natural together. Their speaking tone, their touch, the way they look at each other sometimes makes me want to cover my eyes for looking at their intimate moment. Feels like I shouldn't be there. 🤣

Beautiful. One of the best C-Drama ever had produced. From script , characters , music , choreography everything was perfect. Definitely will miss this drama.

I’m so glad you like this video. I’m obsessed with this couple too; to the point of me making three videos for them already. That’s a rare occasion. 😍 I’m thinking of rewatching again as I wait for Love Like the Galaxy.

The acting on this was so wonderful. Crystal Liu especially exuded grace. Her dancing scenes made me feel transported in time. They weren’t the cheesy, overly edited performances of typical cdramas but instead showcased her fluid movements. The ML played his role with subtlety and didn’t put too much force behind his movements. Plus the small looks and sounds he made (like when she snatched her hand away) made his character feel “real.” Great chemistry, great directing…even the love scenes were so much more mature too. Tasteful but you can tell the actors were comfortable and professional with each other so none of the embarrassment or awkward kisses and embraces were present. They made you feel the passion.

You did an amazing job capturing the electrifying chemistry between the main leads. They are beautiful and in my opinion the best drama couple. The song you chose for the clips are perfect. Well done best drama so far. I’ve watched this over and over. Kudos to you.

@@MK916Editz I like the intelligence of the female lead which enhances their interactions and makes them more fully believable. They naturally bicker and misunderstand each because of their personalities and view points not just scenarios set up by author. Their characters were fully thought out by the writer that way the writing disappears and they seem more real and the story's progress flows naturally. It starts with good writing and the production not to mess it up.

Awesome editing. Thank you for doing it for the fans of this fantastic drama. Chen Xiao and Liu Yifeng absolutely nailed their acting to bring Gu Qianfan and Zhao Pan’er alive. Their chemistry is second to none. I sincerely hope there will be season 2, because there are more stories to tell about all the main characters in A Dream of Splendor.

I really like this drama two matured people meet, no petty act just whats matter to fight for.

I keep coming back to this video, I really love love love love this couple!!!! I'm obsessed with them like I need more Qianfan and PanEr being lovey dovey, they're so natural together, even I need to remind myself that the fact Chen Xiao is married. How amazing and professional he is as an actor! He and Liu Yifei are amazing in this drama. I want them to reunite in many projects, modern or ancient genre, I dont care. @@MK916Editz Actually few years ago, I wanted them together as couple in Condor Heroes together, too bad they were in different versions. Also Chen Xiao look very 'cold' (sorry I dont know the exact word to describe it) during the promotion together with Yifei made me think how come he can be so romantic in the drama? it's like watching different people haha and I became Chen Xiao fan after this drama, I love his acting.

If the ending is tragic like the King’s Woman, I won’t finish it even if Dilraba & Zhang binbin are my 2 favorite Chinese actress/actor. It’s not entertaining to me. Most of my American friends who watch Chinese Drama dropped the King’s Woman too & didn’t recommend it to finish. They told me, don’t keep watching it because the ending was bad. It’s going to be a waste of time. They’re correct. Life is full of tragedies already, why watch more tragedies for entertainment? Makes no sense.

Everything about this drama is good. It’s been a long time since I enjoy watching historical/costume cdrama because most of historical/costume drama is based on fantasy and used dubbing voice over the real actor/actress voice. The progress of the story is good. The storyline itself is empowering for woman during that time. The cinematography is very beautiful. The acting is great. My only complaint is just that the story is too long. I think if it’s only 30 episode story there will not be a lot of unnecessary conflict.

ooo ooo i love the transition at 0:03 and 0:05 I felt to nostalgic (already!) watching this! love that you added some of those action scenes in here too. it helps to show how well rounded this drama was. I also like that you did flashback at 2:51 and your lyrics are adorably done. But tbh I totally agree the last 8 eps or so...yesh, it was a struggle to get through i'm like...where did our ML go?? I love all the woman power but I came for the romance XD

I got five episodes left. I have really enjoyed it. I don't mind the divorce arc in the story, I think they had to throw something big at them, a challenge behind what they faced before. I am still worried about the elephant in the room even more than the money. I love that the secondary characters are nuanced and also experience character growth. It's like a chic flick for rejects and how they navigate love, they needed a big city in order to be found acceptable. The government bureaucracy is large as usual, I found that amusing. This is definitely a show for an older audience. So whereas The General's Lady is for teenagers, A Dream of Splendor is for grandma like me. Has someone done the FMVs for the other couples, even those who split? I love that the writers respected my intelligence and the cinematography was very good. I loved the canals.

You’re absolutely right that this drama is aimed at a more mature audience. I love how they showed the progression of each relationship. It’s more realistic than the younger generation dramas we’ve seen in the past. I have not seen many FMVs on this drama, so I don’t know if there are edits of the other side couples.
