should also be noted that even TAS runs are only as good as the person writing the inputs. they will be able to make instant decisions, but their choice might not always be the best and the time could go lower.

It'd be interesting to see a side-by-side where the TAS run is slowed down so you can compare section by section. As in, the footage is slowed down. That or paused occasionally. Either way, makes for a more direct comparison.

TAS speedruns are a well understood and commonly used in basically ALL games. The Speedrunning community is very mature about these kinds of record keeping. Not to mention, the TAS is doing many, many impossible inputs. The mods of the speedrunning page for this game would own the burden of review and audit for submissions. I wouldn't worry too much about people cheating using a TAS it's not a new concept.

Oh the rage is justified. TAS users are full of ad hoc justifications about how it takes skill to execute a TAS, which really boils down to an admission that their own skills are lacking, but desire the adulation of a world record anyway.

У TAS помимо движений и действий которые человек не сможет повторить чисто физически, так же и читерные действия - на ледяном участке пути я несколько раз видел как он цеплялся за лед и полз дальше, хотя должен был вниз скользить.
