    For those upset with the lack of information… A contra-rotating vertical turbine (CRTV) is a wind turbine with two counter-rotating sets of blades mounted on the shaft, while the generator is placed at the base of the shaft, underwater, acting as a stabilizer and counterweight. The blades use a three-dimensional trajectory and struts add to the wind energy capture and capture efficiency. It also produces lower wake, less wake turbulence, and wind channeled down to sea level, making it possible to reduce the distance between turbines, and stack them closer together It looks like a fascinating new technology. Too bad this video didn’t bother to mention it 🙄

  • @burttrattner2067

    @burttrattner2067

    9 ай бұрын

    How it works. Many windturbine machines are needed to produce power for a city. But when the wind stops or a hurricane comes that and solar stop working. And the city needs the grid to make up the lost power that comes from reliable gas or coal power plants. When the fuel burns in the boilers it creates steam. The pressurized steam forces impeller blades to spin turning the dynamo that makes electric for distribution. The power plants need a much smaller staff in totall to the maintenance required from the many wind turbines which equal the output if the stand aline single power plant.. So the cost of the energy in total from fossil fuels is less than solar or wind.

Thanks for nothing @@burttrattner2067 As far as actually answering OPs question rather than drinking the fossil fuel kool-aid. It is less efficent overall in design. But works for slower windspeeds. @@latexcollar938 Well since you really want to know kiddo, We have this thing it's called the moon, one of the most important things this satellite does is cause massive gravitational shifts upwards over where the moon is located , those shifts that when sufficiently diffused over large bodies of fluids immediately release their pressure in the form of waves, called tidal waves. These waves, while somewhat predictable (if measured for) are completely unavoidable, so now that I've taught you about waves can you guess why putting a bunch of contra rotating pylons (which will have to either be balanced, literally impossible while maintaining their ability to rotate vertically) OR they would have to be placed at the bottom of the ocean and attached, but guess what? that means waves can no longer be used to create a contra rotating pylon, so you might as well just place it on land, oh and while youre at it since the waves wont be affecting it, angle it at the optimal angle for catching the wind. Congratulations you have just invented the old wind turbine.

    There are many ways to make electricity. But some mechanisms are more expensive to manufacture and maintain, which means the electricity produced becomes more expensive and less useful to the world masses. The cheapest and most affordable way to provide electricity is with a single small power plant that requires fewer people to operate and uses less real estate and is near its customer base. So, that's why coal fired plants are only built near the population centers and alongside railroad tracks to easily get the coal to the furnace. Coal however does make siot and ash which requires people to control. If natural gas fields are near population centers you can enjoy the cleanest and least costly way to make electrify. The gas can be piped from the fields to the furnace where it burns cleanly and needs few people to operate the power plant. It burns so cleanly that gas stoves operate in your kitchen without fumes. The prosperity of a people's is directly related to the availability and affordable of electric power for homes and industry. That's how America's Appalachian poverty people's were made prosperous with FDRs TVA initiative bringing cheap energy to a district which attracts industry and provide jobs.

    We already have many electric systems being run under the waves. With this system the only things to be submerged would be the transmission lines and that’s a fairly standard insulated cable situation. The turbine would be enclosed sealed and dry until maintenance was needed. This would be simply opening the bulkheads like a ships door before entering to work. The way oil rigs are currently operating important things sealed and above the waterline. Only ballast and floatation being below the waves.
