I'm not a truck fan, but this is a fantastic representation of a 50's era American vehicle. On my list for sure.

The Delorean rumor probably started when someone leaked "this is gonna be an older American car, kind of like riding back in time" or similar 😁

It’s a great little classic build. Here in New Zealand we call these vehicles utes (utility vehicle), and they are very common for both farms and trades/contractors, and general purpose vehicles. It looks a clever build with great play/display features with the seasonal bits. Def on my list.

Congrats on getting this one early! I really love the storage cabinets with clear doors. I suggest you put draft strips on them to keep out even the finest of dust particles.

This set is one of the best,reason I play large parts not small to make this car build...

I like this set, and will try to mod to look more like an actual old Ford/Chevy truck.

Cool review as always. Here in Qatar, I see a lot of this pick-up truck around. Solid build, heavy metal. Would have preferred a more rustic (brownish perhaps) colour than this red one.

Thanks for the early review. Love the detailed, fun build and though not in scale fits in well enough with the other Creator Expert vehicles in the line up. Still liking the T2 a bit more, but this is definitely on the list. Agreed, could do without the seasonal pack, but for the type of truck it is they make enough sense and don't bump up the price all that much more. Hoping for the DeLorean in 2022. Could have been pushed back because of the upcoming Tumbler being rumored for later this year.

I love it, this is definitely on my shopping list when it comes out. I don't mind it isn't a brand / named truck, still looks great to me.

We havent ever had a proper DeLorean and, judging from the Ecto-1 expert set, I believe that it's time will come

Hopefully next year. I think we've got enough Creator Expert vehicles for this year that they won't do anymore in 2021. We got the Porsche, this Pick Up truck, the VW Camper Van and the recoloured Fiat 500.

While I wish we got a real Ford or Chevy pickup, I still really like this!

I've been going back and forth on whether I should get this since it was released. I ended up deciding not to because it's not a licensed vehicle like my other Creator Expert ones but you made a good point about the bus and I have that. Plus the building process looked interesting here. I think I'm changing my mind now and I'm going to get this

The car looks quite nice apart from the roof section. Just like most of the Creator Expert cars. The door mechanism looks very interesting. However the rest of the build looks pretty much straightforward in contrast to the Mustang and the 911. The lack of a license is very unusual especially since the model is obviously based on a real vehicle. But this makes the model decently priced and I will certainly get it. At least as a nice parts pack.

@@ahmedm5988 The a- and b-pillars are straight but should be slightly angled. The rooftop should be slimmer and the front end of the roof looks like a mess with different types of slopes and curved slopes used.

Great review as always. I assume there weren't many colour variations on the dark red or you would have mentioned it. At least the promotional pictures don't seem to want to hide the variations. What bothers me is the amount of cars we get this year instead of another cool Creator Expert locomotive or fairground set.

I agree that this is a "typical" American classic truck (here - Netherlands) we don't have many of those open-trunk cars - too much rain here. Thanks to the Hallmark movies they're well known though. LOL I 💚 this set! As a seasonal display, it's cool, but I think that i's a great play for kids as well. farming, flower market, getting cheese or pumpkins from the neighbouring village... you name it. I get it that you're disappointed that it isn't the set you expected, but hey, cheer up and be positive. :)

Thanks for this great review. I'm neither American nor specially interested in pickup trucks, but I do agree this set looks great and has very cool building technic used. I'll certainly order one. I just noticed you fixed the "feet" of the wheelbarrow wrong : they're supposed to be 2 studs closer to the front according to the manual. Nothing critical here, but the wheel barrow stance looks better once corrected. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your reviews.

Interesting video ! I have a beginner question regarding how the designer design sets like that : why they use a lot of tricky techniques with small connector, bar, pegs etc. From my perspective, the side and wheel arch can be made with standard stacked bricks/arch/tiles, Like the db5 set for instance. What do you think about this new way of building ? Enhance the number of parts ? Rigidity ? Neat design ?

I think the aim of the designer is to make the building process more interesting, and if it is possible then increase the variety of parts. Designers are frequently AFOLs as well who also like to have more pieces in different colors :)

There is a truck and school bus from the Hidden Side series. I didn't care for all the extra stuff, so I modded them, in order to make them look more normal. I actually made the school bus a little bigger.

Love the fact that you took a jab at the Americans for calling this a classic. There are definitely parts of the world like where I'm from which never saw these types of trucks. Would be cool if Lego made a classic GAZ, ZIS or ZIL truck.

I got this last week and still have not figured out how to get the truck bed to fit properly. And I completely gave up on the wreath. Any suggestions?

The reason people thought the rumour was for a Delorean is because the placeholder set name for 10290 was “Back in time vehicle”.

Yes in America that model of truck in red is iconic. Farms will have one sitting at the entrance to there produce stand and you’ll even see Santa Claus men driving that truck around. This type of truck in red can be seen in the driveway of the house every day about 10 minutes away from my house and they decorated for each Holiday.

does this fit with 10265 mustang? cause if yes ill just get this with the mustang instead of the mustang with the porsche

The wreath is only difficult if you don’t take the time to follow the instructions carefully. I was able to build it in 9 minutes.

I did not notice any big differences. I'm sure it is possible to find variations if you look close enough but nothing at Sian level.

What am I ignoring? It's an unlicensed set, might be a whole bunch of different classic US trucks.

Its the Hallmark red pick up all thats missing is a giant christmas tree and C grade actors and a really bad script. Once the truck is built its a happy ending just like a Hallmark movie LOL . :-)

Still not a fan of that kit, to me it looks misshapen with either the front being a bit long, or the back being too short.
