I know! So impressive. Now this is because of the school curriculum. From what I have been told, kids here learn Arabic as a first language and then French by age 6 and then a third language by age 9, which is usually Berber or English. Also, those in the tourist areas live and die by their ability to communicate. Most of the people that we spoke to were able to speak 3-6 languages with some fluency to be able to do business. Very impressive.

Moroccans around the history they have this ability of learning languages. For me I speak Arabic French English Spanish and Berber and most of friends and family the speak the same. Check the one called zamouri christopher Columbus take him with him because he had the ability to learn and communicate with language of any land by the way he was Moroccan en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estevanico

Mohammed - You should be proud. Languages are such a treasure to have. Our kids speak English, Spanish and French and they are able to communicate in most of the countries that we have visited. I can only imagine how that would improve if we learned Arabic and Mandarin.

moroccans are Amazigh, Arabic (native languages) and latine languages (colonial languages) speakers but new generations speak very well English because of globalisation (tourism, social medias...) but also now English become more important in school curriculum than before.

There's a souk in the medina where you can buy any type of fish then you take that to a place where they add spices and cook it the way you want: grilled fried or in the oven. The names of old moroccan cities and towns are mostly in amazigh language (the native official language next to arabic in Morocco) so nothing about french or spanish influences there.

Very good to know. Thank you. When we were being corrected, they were asking us to think of the pronunciation in a Spanish context. That is what made me think that it was influenced by the Spanish occupation. Apologies.

Actually Essaouira was influenced by The Portuguese occupation and the name Mogador quotted from the Berber name " Mogadir " which means the town of attic

For us, the fish was definitely lacking spice. Not sure if the local community likes it without spice, but it definitely could have used it. It was still good, but we walked away wanting something different. Next time we will insist on the spice being added.

Hello i just discovered your channel. Love it. I am a marocan wife born, raised and still living in Belgium. Sinds my childhoud i go to morocco only for vacation . I love video's like this because there are so many places i still want too see in my fatherland. You have wright when you said I am in morocco i need more spicec. Fisch in generale gets a lot of spice just like meat and chicken. But thats the fisch in tajines or in a pan en the fich in the oven . The stuwed tipes of fisch diches. But grilled is always salt only with lemon en sometimes with some cumin. if you want spiced fich try tajine. And all the other kind of stew diches. This kind of fich the stews are made with a charmoula . Charmoula is a marinade. And in that marinade they put a lot of spices. Love youre video's 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
