I'm so glad to have representation in the game. Not only for me, but also for all the children (and older !) for them to be get used to diversity. Something that show them that we are...just human ! I'm thankful that you created Mary and Blossom : a simple loving couple, elders with a happy life, and not a tragic story like often or, sorry for them, a cliche like Brent and Brant.

This should be sent to the people who say that The Sims is woke NOW. I really wish that you covered the series as whole’s LGBTQ+ representation, because 4 only added more on top of what we’ve gotten since 2000! ❤

Here are some more LGBTQ+ Sims that were missed (this is a bit long, sorry): (For Rent) - Zhafira Cahyaputri, Vanesha's daughter, is also Bisexual. She is romantically interested in both men and women, open to romantic exploration, and is interested in messing around with men and women. - Bua Bun Ma, the matriarch of the Bun Ma household, is another Bisexual sim who is not interested in romantically exploring but knows she is romantically attracted to men and women as well as woohooing with both. - Kasem Bun Ma is a Trans Sim as indicated by his top surgery scars. He also is unable to become pregnant or get others pregnant. (Horse Ranch) - Don Gooseman is a Bisexual sim who's romantically interested in men/women, open to exploring, and woohoos with both. - Sienna Grove, the horse trainer is a Bisexual sim who's romantically interested in men/women, open to exploring, and woohoos with both. (Maxis Gallery) - Hunter Evans, a LGBTQ+ activist who sometimes pops up when you first enter Create A Sim and is also on the main title photo, Hunter being the one in the back with his phone out. - Leila Wainscot. A Trans kid who was used in promotional trailers of Dream Home Decorator. Her room had a trans flag and she dresses in trans flag colours. - Ross Valentin. His profile mentions Brent Hong as his "beloved" who doesn't know he exists, suggesting he has a crush on him. - Mo'Choice. A group of Sims who all appear to have their own unique story. Many of them wear both masucline and feminine clothing and some have opposite frames to their sex. And here are some potential LGBTQ+ (Growing Together) - Aurelio Robles. Though not specified in CAS, Aurelio could be speculated as Asexual as he wears the Asexual flag pride nails. He is, however, open to messing around with both men and women. - Christopher Michaelson. Again this isn't reflected in CAS but the San Sequoia secrets suggest that Christopher was with Celeste pre transition which may suggest he is Bisexual. (My Wedding Stories) - Greta Laurent. Not specified in CAS but she wears the Bisexual pride flag nails. (Maxis Gallery) - Iggy Pancakes. The teen version of Iggy that came with Dream Home Decorator wears the pride shirt t-shirt in one of the white swatches, with the rainbows on the shoulders. And lastly we have Sims that have been headcanoned by many in the community (these are common Sims I've seen mentioned on Twitter by multiple players). - Diego Lobo from City Living (Gay or Bisexual) - Izzy Fabulous from Get Famous (Gay) - Paka'a Uha from Island Living (Trans) - Liberty Lee from Base Game (Bisexual) - Summer Holiday from Base Game (Bisexual) - Jules Rico from Eco Lifestyle (Bisexual) - Raj Rasoya from City Living (Aromantic)

regarding the pronoun update, i just wish they also updated things like "ask to be girlfriend/boyfriend" and labels like wife and husband. i make a lot of enby sims or sims that have she/they or he/they pronouns and its kind of discouraging to see they didnt also change those interactions. something like "propose going steady" from ts3 would actually work really well, and maybe instead of gendered labels it could be "partner" or "significant other" or even "lover". for married sims i think just "spouse" would be great!

To be honest, I'd hope for them to include choosing what you want to be referred to as. Other games, including MANY indie games, have done such a thing. I know genderless options are a popular/safe choice, but tbh, I (and other people I've met) absolutely hate "gender neutral" terms. There's plenty of us who have been called they/them to avoid calling us by our actually chosen pronouns while still "not" being "actually" misgendering us, so forced gender neutrality is kind of ick too.

@@caleschip Ohh yeah I would be surprised in general these days if EA actually even did the gender-neutral thing tbh xD Inclusion would be such an easy thing for a company their size; it'd only be tedious, not difficult. Especially given that most AAA companies have hiring requirements of YEARS of experience (and some are even shooing out indie devs by making a requirement "proven experience at a AAA company").

Everyone tends to forget about Raj Rasoya and that he’s probably aroace based on his household description and traits and Paka’a Uha is nonbinary. Also I don’t know if this is a glitch with my mods or a glitch with the game but all the npc ghosts or skeletons default to aroace *including* Guidry for some reason??? Like, okay, maybe Bonehilda is aroace but Guidry certainly is not! I just want to romance the hot ghost!!!!

the possibilities that these updates opened up are incredible! of course there’s still more to be done, but i can now make my headcanons for certain townies a reality! like to me, Rory Oaklow is transmasc nonbinary and i can give them top surgery scars! plus Cassandra Goth is she/they bisexual (shameless projection on my part). also totally agree on Darling being enby, i always update their pronouns and make them lesbian. i could go on and on about the townies tbh. happy pride!!!!🏳️‍🌈

I love the promotional Sims so much I made myself a save to live out their lives. I try to follow the storyline of the trailers and promo stills as much as possible, then I make a big ol’ mess of their lives.

Not gay myself but still always enjoy seeing representation in The Sims and there were a LOT of Townies I wasn't aware of in this list! FYI, my current favourite household is an elderly gay couple - one a widower and the other a former Father Winter - my heart!

One thing where Sims 4 surely is better than previous Sims iterations is LGBTQ+ representation. It's still not perfect and there's still a lot of work regarding that, but it's already miles from previous iterations, where (almost) all Sims were bi and you could make them what you want. While that did make sense from programming side of the things, which it surely made easy, it also did give haters a fuel in "he made him gay" debate. And I am glad Sims 4 is no longer that kind of game. We came a long road from just same-sex relationships in Sims 1, through Joined Unions in Sims 2 and "finally gay marriages" in Sims 3 to having our say in Sims' sexual orientation. Not only that, but we also have quite a variety of trans options non-existing in Sims ever before. There's still a lot to be done in this field, especially regarding real non-binary representation, but we are on the right track and it's really nice to see.

It was fun learning so much and reviewing the updates over the years! And I love your shirt!

I hope one day to have a canonically trans man sim. I love making them, but it would be super validating to see. I love the non-binary sims, but often it feels like for the more masculine leaning ones, it's like masc lite or something. Fingers crossed we see a trans man in an update!

Kasem Bun Ma from For Rent! He has top surgery scars, he is unable to impregnate other sims or get pregnant, his child was produced as a "science baby", and there is written lore in the game via Tomarang Truths that he changed his name and pronouns at some point in his life. He does not specifically call himself a "trans man", but all the clues are right there.

@@SageArdorAnd that’s awesome that it’s all hinted at and coded! But as I said, I’d like someone explicitly stated to be a trans man. Coded is fine, we have that with plenty of sims, and I personally view that as them being closeted, but it’d just be awesome to have that clearly stated, non-coded representation. :)

Sexuality update was really good idea, maybe you don't want this specific sim to be in heterosexual relationship, or you want specific one to be straight, it depends on a story and we have to depend on imagination in this game a lot. But I agree that it would be better that you could set sim to be seen by all game settings as non-binary or I think that being able to label sim as trans would be helpful. I also think that it could help if you could also set your sim preferences to only being interested in non-binary or trans sims, not only female or male, because maybe that's what your story requires. Also I hope that one day we get pronouns update in every language, I know it could be hard in some, but EA has budget for it and they could work with linguists so they can write grammatically correct lines.

raj rasoya is my aroace king! i always got that vibe from him. i had a really long-running savefile where he got married to a woman but realized he was aroace. they stayed married as platonic lifepartners and best friends and raised four adopted children together. i really loved that savefile but lost it when my computer broke 😢 maybe i'll recreate it now that we actually have options for it

when gender preference came to the sims 4 stephosims said that they added straights to the game as the sims 4 sims had always been bisexual up until that point

Me personally, I just don’t like the execution of the gay pride outfits in My Wedding Stories. On paper I love the idea, but the vibrant rainbow stripes on clothes is a bit too garish for my taste. I don’t mind it on flags, but for some reason it bothers me on clothes. If it was softer and maybe a gradient I’d like it more
