The thing for me is even though he’s not their biological father, they act just like how teenage boys act with their father. It’s hard to explain but it’s dope to see.

@@WellnesspodcastTV You’re a little delayed so I have to explain what I’m saying. What I’m saying is watching it thru the LENS of a father and adopted son and the LENS of a father and biological son, IT FEELS THE SAME. smh

  • @JRiley187

What I found interesting about watching this is, when my (now adopted) son was my foster child, he called me by my actual name. After he was adopted he immediately started calling me "Dad", with pride. And to be honest, for me it was a little awkward initually. I suppose because in a day I went from never having been called "Dad" my whole life to suddenly hearing someone yell "Dad" more than I get to hear my own actual name lol. At some point I not only got use to him calling me "dad" but I looked forward to hearing it. I got that same old feeling of joy when Anthony left and said "love you dad". Memories I suppose...

@@copperme I’m sure nobody likes that but they will learn if you teach them well and show them that what you are trying to teach them is not to make their lives harder but to make their future easier. That just shows me you have no potential or want to help improve children behavior other than to throw them on the streets or to beat them as punishment. We are all human, not even parents are perfect. The best thing for children like this is to be able to come down to their level and not to state you are above them. What children like this need is for you to understand they are struggling too, *not just you.* and not just “whose struggling the most” because they don’t really care about that, they care about you understanding that their struggles should be worth the same as yours.

I am new to your channel, finally subscribed after watching you from afar. What a beautiful story and what a courageous man. We certainly need more men like you stepping up and opening their homes to these precious children. As the mother of 3 young men, my youngest being 18, I will soon be an empty nester and am thinking I may open my home to pregnant teens/young mothers. Something along that line. The Lord knows the desires of my heart and he will be my guide.

I have two sons and they lived off of beans and rice and baked chicken. We always ate at a buffet and I made a pot of soup once a week. They stayed eating. Breakfast I invested in a waffle maker and always bought a case of chicken and a five pound roll of ground beef. I made homemade biscuit and a pan of cornbread to go with the soup. They also drank milk. The cornbread the often ate with milk and crushed cracklin. They never complained and they bellies stayed full.

New to your channel. It is nice of you to have offered your home two these boys and adopt them too. I know that it is a lot of sacrifice on your part, but it will be all rewarding one day. These boys will appreciate it and take care of you in return when you'll be older Peter. You guys can make it a rule to eat out once a week. It is a special thing the boys will always remember . But try to make it a more positive experience Peter. Do not complain about the cost in front of the boys , so, they do not feel bad about having to ask you for food. I am a single mother of three daughters, in their 20's now. and I always used to say: We do not spend money on cigarettes or alchohol weekly like other people did, so, we could treat ourselves once a week to eat out. Two young , growing boys eat a lot and have a fast metabolism. So, not surprised a all. No sacrifice is too much for them. Later on in life ,they will remember these nice events and help you back in return. They will bever forget that you offered them a home. And I loved how you got a dog , Simba, for Anthony; It is a huge emotional support for a foster child to cope with all his earlier childhood experiences and trauma from it. It helps him heal. Pets are like antidepressants for people. I like how you also discuss things with the boys and let them have choices and opinions. I did the same with my girls. And it was a great support for their confidence later in life. And Peter I was not a real estate afent like you,... we started on a very modest income, supplemented by child tax benefits until years later when I got a better job and income. To this day, the girls are very loving and helpful and supportive to me in every way, although they have now moved out of the house.. So, do your best for those boys cause you only have a few more years with them until they move on their own feet. You'll not regret it. God bless you and reward you.

Typical teenagers and their discussions, also typical that they can always eat. What is atypical, however, is that they listen immediately when it comes to bedtime. I thought it was so cute that Anthony asked if Simba could sleep in his bed. I laughed so hard when Anthony stepped over Peter in the car. Peter has a lot of patience.

I get the feeling you are exactly the same people when the camera is off. And that's how people get to know and respect who you are in the world. Not everyone can survive the kinds of "adventures" you've had and become better people for it. Stronger people. Genuine people who's journey, bravely shared with strangers, can give hope to the ones who are most in need of it. Well done!
